I love writing Henry on the floor in his bathroom with tears streaming down his face, hands shaking as he stares down at the leg he’ll never forgive for betraying him, making little noise except for the choked breaths that occasionally come. I love writing him feeling incredibly idiotic for behaving in what he thinks is such a childish way, because he can’t help it.

I love writing him hating himself for not fixing it, for not getting rid of himself when it was the most logical thing to do. I love writing him feeling that irritation you can only feel by looking back on a test and seeing you got an answer wrong, but towards his heart; like he should've been smart enough to make it stop beating. I love writing him pull himself up to his feet, because there’s no other choice of what to do, when months ago he should’ve been dead.

I love writing him hate how they won’t let him use the shears or spade, because they’re too sharp.

And I adore writing him while still in the hospital, having to request help to read, of all things. His eyesight is too poor without his glasses, which were shattered at impact with the floor, and his head, or any other part of his body, not strong enough to lift himself into a position where it would be possible.
