Treaty now. Fuck the monarchy. Fuck Australia Day. Republic referendum now. ACAB. Change The Date. Support Indigenous businesses and artists. Better education on our blak history. Respect for all First Nations people, particularly for lives lost and generations traumatized by colonisation.

I have been having thoughts this past week leading up to this day about how exhausting it is every year trying to calmly debate with people about why changing the date is so important. When people are so uncaring, undereducated and severely misinformed. It’s so stressful because it constantly feels like there’s little hope. However, I quickly realized that this exhaustion is a million fold for indigenous people. It’s an issue that I am incredibly passionate about, and I’ll always acknowledge my privilege and further educate and better myself. I won’t let racist cunts to stop that.

My life is 1000% more manageable and bright when my ears and soul are filled with music. My number one song. My number one artist. Predicted it from my first listen that it would take me over. It’s honestly one of the best songs that has come out in the past five years and I will stand by that.

I fucking love IDLES. They bought my passion back out amongst crippling depression and numbness. They made me express rage through yelling out and dancing alone in my house. I fucking love them. They reinvigorated my faith in modern rock music and the way it can be used to call out fascism and toxic cultures but also the importance of love and kindness at the same time. They rock so hard and then make me cry with joy and gratitude on the same album. I love Joe Talbot. I love IDLES. I’m proud that I spent my year with them 🥲

since spotify wrapped is coming today i just want to bring awareness to the fact that around 86% of the songs on spotify are currently demonetized since spotify decided that tracks with under 1,000 cannot be monetized. not only that the ceo of spotify cashed out $35.8 million dollars in spotify shares in the third quarter of the year and it has been reported that he earns more than the top artists on the platform.

for a platform that claims to support artists, this is outrageous and i hope people realize that an artist who is starting out, cannot make a living out of spotify streams simply because daniel ek and his friends made it worse for the artists trying to start a career. if you wanna support musicians and the possibility for them to get a living wage please follow United Musicians and Allied Workers (UMAW) which are trying to make The Living Wage for Musicians Act a reality so musicians can be paid fairly through streaming platforms and get the cut they deserve.
