in need of quick advice from someone who made rosemary oil before

is it better to use fresh or dried rosemary? i’ve read that fresh rosemary oil only lasts a week, is this also the case if i don’t have to eat it but, let’s say, use it in a spell?

you do NOT sound stupid, this is a totally valid question!

It depends what method you’re using to make the rosemary oil. if you’re leaving a fresh sprigof rosemary to just sit in a carrier oil for a few days at room temp, then i would say you shouldnt use it after about 10 days.

if you are gently warming your oil with fresh rosemary and letting it infuse, and then removing the sprig of rosemary, the oil will be good until the oil itself goes rancid (several months at least).

To answer the question of using it in a spell: you shouldn’t use any “expired” ingredients in spells unless you’re trying to channel negative energy. Expired ingredients can actually be great for vanishing/hexing etc. BUT for “light” magic you want your spell components to be fresh, because that is when they’re full of positive energy!

i made a spell jar on the full moon. in the past couple of days i’ve noticed that the candle wax i poured inside has dripped a little on one side and formed the number three

i made a ridiculously powerful protection salt yesterday. bought candles and everything... i’m not experienced enough to attempt hexes of any kind but i sure am going to do a protection spell for the protesters in honor of this full moon.

Spirit-B-Gone Powder

This is a powder designed to quickly banish a spirit, while neutralizing any of their attempts to harm you. It is not designed to play nice, so keep that in mind when deciding when to use it. Hopefully you will never need it. (Though if you DO use it, I’d love to hear about your results since by nature it’s something I kind of avoid thoroughly testing!)

Ingredients: I mix them intuitively, so the amounts are whatever feels right. Generally this takes more salt, though.

Salt (Protection, banishing)

Pepper (Banishing, protection)

Chili Powder (Banishing)

Grey Salt (I make this the same way as most black salt recipes, with the ashes of incense. Grey is neutralizing.)

Cayenne Pepper (Banishing, adds strength and speed)

Ginger (Banishing, adds strength and speed)

Put it in a bottle or container and give it a good SHAKE!!
