The heavy thuds of raindrops patter against the window. Mingi was exactly 2 minutes late for their date. Yunho was just about to put his jacket on and go looking for his boyfriend before he heard the door open. Immediately he rushed to greet his boyfriend. His smile dropped when he saw the state of him.
Mingi's face was pointed down, his bangs covering his face. Yunho couldn't see his eyes, but he knew he was crying from the soft movements in his shoulders and his staggered breathing. His clothes and hair were drenched. Mingi looked absolutely pathetic. It broke Yunho's heart.
In an instant Yunho was by Mingi's side, softly putting his hand into Mingi's shoulder. "Baby boy? can you tell me what hap-" His words cut off when Mingi shrugged Yunho's large hands off him. "We should break up" was all Mingi said.
There was a beat of silence. Then another. The only thing that filled the room were soft sobs and rain drops. "Why?" was all Yunho could muster, biting back his own tears.
"because..." Mingi trailed off, looking to the side. Yunho's heart stopped when he swore he could see blood. He dropped to his knees, looking up at Mingi finally seeing his face. Anger was all he could feel. "Who"
The left side of Mingi's face was covered in bruises. A cut on his right cheek was dropping blood. Around his neck, hand prints.
Yunho took a deep breath and gently cupped Mingi's cheek. "Baby boy, whoever did this to you isn't right, I love you, I want to protect you" he said softly. Mingi shook his head.
"you're the reason I'm like this"
Yunho would never hurt Mingi. Never in his dreams. "What are you talking about Mingi? I have never-"
"HE HIT ME BECAUSE OF YOU, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU" it was a sudden outburst. Even Yunho jumped. He pulled his hand away, staring up at his boyfriend. His eyes were so dark, so hurt, so scared. Tears rolled down his cheeks, His body was shaking as he struggled to make eye contact with Yunho.
"You aren't going back" Yunho understood, and he didn't need anything more. "You are moving in with me" He said softly, standing up and pulling mingi into his arms. "I don't care what he thinks it says, I love you Mingi, I promise" he whispered softly.
Loud sobs echoed in the room. He struggled and hit Yunho's chest, yelling nonsense at him. Yunho endured. He stood strong and stable. It wasn't until Mingi calmed down did he speak again. "let's clean you up and then we will talk some more late, but for now how does hot coco , cuddles, and anime sound? maybe a round of Mario Cart if you are up too it?"
