4 Reasons Why I Use the Sony A7
Everyone has their own reasons for using the cameras they use, whether it’s preference, or its all they can afford. Here’s 4 reasons why I use the Sony A7.
1. its Mirrorless.
If you don't know, they’re are two different types of digital cameras, DSLR, and mirrorless. The main difference is DSLR cameras use physical mirrors to take the photos while mirrorless use sensors. This makes mirrorless cameras lighter and more compact. It’s less weight to hold when taking photos, and it’s easier to carry and pack. Before I had a small camera bag I used to keep my camera in my jacket pocket.
2. The EVF
Sony A7′s EVF or Electronic Viewfinder, is another reason I really like the Sony A7. The EVF allows the viewer to directly see that photos on the viewfinder and the results of the photo will change in real time according to the cameras settings. If the shutter speed was changed to a faster shutter speed, the photo on the display will automatically darken change the result of the photo. This is a really good feature to have as you can see it on both the screen display and the actually viewfinder. This in turn however, takes up a lot of energy and results in a shorter battery life.
3. Lens Adaptors
The Sony Alpha series, as some other designs offer a different mounting system that allows people to use different lenses with the A7. The camera however requires lens adaptors to use different branded camera lenses, and both the adaptor and the lens have to be compatible. This however lets us use different lenses that aren't traditionally used with the A7. Good lens adaptors can go a less as $100, and provide full capability with the lens and the camera. I usually pair my A7 with a Metabones E-Mount Adaptor and attach my Leica 35mm or Canon 50mm, both which are manual lenses.
4. Sony PlayMemories App
Lastly the Sony has the PlayMemories App for mobile phones that lets people pair their cameras and their phones. The camera can be set to take photos remotely from the app and can remotely can the camera settings in real time. In addition to this, you can transfer the photos you took on the camera directly from the camera to your phone, and to which the photos can be edited in app. With this feature, photos can be only easily transferred if they are jpeg photos are any other file size should be too big.
In conclusion, the Sony A7 has a lot of perks and reasons that help me with my photography.
