I am once again infodumping about F1, but this time it is about some of the lore in as unbiased of a fashion as I can.

pantrblr has anyone else noticed how it’s always Reinhart and Marchand taking the tough loss post game interviews and never Ekblad?

I know and also appreciate and enjoy the fact that the panthers have a “decentralized” leadership group (w Barkov and Tkachuk out esp.) but something is just really odd to me about this. Pair it w the fact that Marchand is doing all of the captainly things on the ice (and not Ekblad) and it’s extra weird

I personally don't know much about the Florida Panthers outside of Marchy (and the former Bruins), but I check the official rosters and both Marchy and Reino actually have an A. They just don't wear it on their jerseys

I guess they just don't want the visible letter on the jersey?

Ik Marchy said he could feel the weight the letter gives him when he plays, and maybe he just plays easier or more loose when he doesn't have it? Maybe same goes for Reino? Just speculation cuz ik Marchy took being a captain very seriously and it was a big deal and honour to him

Marchy has specifically Captain experience. He was the Captain of the Boston Bruins for a year and a half. I mean sometimes you can see him standing with the ref along with the other team's representative while the refs dish out penalties, last season included and with no (visible) letter

Given example: vs Buffalo last season

I think it's despite the fact that Marchy is on a different team, he was at one point still a Captain and an A before that, and thus refs still take him more seriously as they would any other Captain or A

I do not know why Ekblad doesn't do post-loss interviews however, sorry that's all I can say
