I don’t usually answer reblogs with comments, but this post is not saying that everyone should be called they. It’s about being inclusive when talking about an unknown or hypothetical person, so instead of saying “he or she” when referring to someone you don’t know, you should say “they,” because you don’t know their pronouns. I don’t stand for misgendering anyone for any reason, including using they/them pronouns for someone that doesn’t use they/them.

There's a big difference

'"He or she"' is what some people say when talking about some whose gender they don't know. The word 'they' works much better in such a case because it's shorter and more inclusive.

'"He" or "She"' would be referring to the pronouns themselves. If that was how it was worded, it would be saying that the pronouns he and she are bullshit and people who use those should just use they.

The text in question says the first thing, not the second.
