AS A ROOK SIMP AND AS AN ARTIST I APPROVE SO HARD!
Now that that's out of the way...
I'll start off with his face. The eyes make me feel a certain way, man, and I can't really describe why. Then you add the mouth? AAAGH!! I think it may have something to do with the fact that the teeth are drawn individually (and the canines even have the little points!!). I don't think some of y'all understand just how hard that can be to pull off without it looking goofy. And, back to the eyes, can I just point out how the right eye is slightly more squinted because of the smirk?!
I love how detailed the hair is without looking messy (in an art sese). It's also manages to be perfectly wild, which really matches the character in my opinion. I also think the shading was executed SUPER well! It overall has a lot of depth and is just stunning! I aspire to be able to draw hair that way!
The wrinkles of the shirt and pants are literally so good too! I'm sure most artists can attest to the fact that wrinkles are one of the hardest things to learn to draw well and accurately, but the ones on this piece? BEAUTIFUL! Even where there aren't lines to outline then, the shading portrays them so well! With some edges flat and others blending, and all in the right spots!
The bluer tones on his neck and at the ends of his hair (his arms too) also really help the shading look professional (?) (idk what word to use, but I feel like good isn't expressive enough:'()
I'd also like to point out really quick how well they drew the gun.
Lastly, the belt, vest, and handle of the gun all appear to have a leather texture, which really helps the piece feel thought out and real.
Really, there's so much more I could talk about, and I feel like this post doesn't even come close to doing it justice. The artist clearly has such a good understanding of shading/lighting; that's what stood out to me the most. Overall, I think this artist is super talented and that it having 0 notes when I came across it is ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL!!!
Thank you, artist, for this beautiful piece! I say that as not only a Rook simp but as an artist!
Thank you for the many compliments
I'm so happy that I can't express it in words
(I used a translation app. Sorry if the words are weird)
