I was gonna draw more but I’m ashamed to say that this is my first king…..I wanted to figure out her design first. Hopefully it isn’t the last king either
what would king’s domain name be? (like how all the gods’ realms have names, the midnight, thespius’ cloud, bauspace, etc.)
I think its name in our files was "The Sanctuary". Something placeholder for when we actually came back to it... That sounds right, anyways. I don't have the files to check. I think "The Sunrise" could have been cool, too.
She does have an unused in-game domain, but it's undecorated- mostly a pretty kaleidoscopic pattern.
Edit: someone who messaged me and had datamined the game said it was called "The Throneroom". Yep, that was the placeholder name!! Thanks for checking haha, I didn't remember because it was something we were going to work on later. Wish we ended up having the time!
Originally, for Great God Grove, I had an idea that the Spire [end] of the game was whole section, like Buzzhuzz or The Cove. Maybe smaller though. Something strange, threatening, broken down, nostalgic. Tense. Wanted it to have architecture beyond human understanding, the feel of the academy in the Utena movie.
You can sort of see traces of this in the Spire's design. I also had ideas of the whole end chapter being a lot more brutal and visceral. I have a good amount of sketches for this, somewhere. It's fun to think about these things...
As stated in the game itself, Godpoke and King look sort of alike, and that's still canon for Kool (tho unlike og Godpoke, it never cosplayed King, but always had cowgirl clothes)
Kool & King look alike mostly due to their clothes preferences, but without hats they are not similar at all
Also Kool is scared of King at first, even knowing that Inspekta's description of her was a lie ("Evil" King taken a root in Kool's head due to him)

This also works as a depersonalization method, if we are talking about the deep meaning of the game (more like an AU)
Cuz I believe that Grove people sort of idealized King, less seeing her like a real person and more like a saint (I mean, they did turn away from her in a short time, and only Miss M and Razz thought it's not like their King??(THO they still believed that))
So basically in this AU people just run along with the "new" version of King (Kool), cuz it looks alike their ex-godpoke. And for the most of the game Kool just goes like "no Im not King??? fcuk you guys" (ppl don't really listen lol)
At some point Inspekta even uses that, spreading lies and gossips between mortal ppl of HobbyHoo, that Kool is just King's follower and wants to make situation even worse (cuz yk, she disturbs his plan and all). That makes Kool's HobbyHoo experience really bad, but triggers the Rebellion in BuzzHuzz later
The depersonalization of both King and Kool ends at the Spire, cuz both of them lost their hats (I mean, wind from the Rift must be stronger near it), and they not only really different from each other, but also (not) lowkey scared and tired (cuz they are just mortals and Inspekta is a literal god)
