It me
Who wants to buy me some yarn for being awesome? (jk, i don’t need more yarn, this is just a joke even if i do have a yarn problem lol)
I think I may have a yarn problem... In my defence Joanne’s had a really good coupon today and I have a project in mind for most of it... I just may also have more yarn than I know what to do with, but I’ll be damned if I get rid of any of it. It’s too pretty and is full of so much potential!!!
Meant to get a pic of the blocking, but I forgot. Alpaca is very delicate when wet, so I was worrying over it the whole time. But it’s done now! Three hanks, $60, 1 soggy counter top, and many many man hours, but I finally have a finished alpaca hat and infinity scarf set! I love it. This was also the first time I had blocked a piece, and I feel like it really helped the cables pop out. All in all, this was a very successful project, and I’m pleased with both it and myself.
If you want your own set, message me and we can work out the details :)
Done with the knitting! I only got 11.9 reps out, but the cables fit together at the seam, so I didn’t want to undo all I had done. Now I just need to block and sew, so I’m almost there.
What’s this? Three updates in one day? Yes! I just finished the 11th rep! I’m nervous about getting the full 12 in, but just enough often looks like not quite until you finally get there. We shall just have to wait and see.
10 reps! I really wanted to get a lot of ground covered today. I’m almost done. It only took me about five hours to do this, and that wasn’t pure knitting time. If I stick with it, I should be done with it by the weekend.
9 reps completed! I’m just so excited. I’m pretty sure I can get 3 more out of it, which would just be amazing, making it nice and long like a traditional infinity scarf. To date, this is probably one of my favorite projects.
8 reps! Only about four more, if I can get that many out. It’s so pretty, I love it so so much. It now can wrap all around my head twice, which is the minimum requirement for an infinity scarf, so that’s good.
7 reps! It’s really flying by now! I’m hoping to get 12 full reps, but I may only be able to get 11. If that’s the case, I’ll likely make a puffball for the hat with the remainder. I don’t want to waste any.
6 reps done. Still working on the second skein, same one from the hat. If I can get one more out of it, and I think I can, then I’ll be able to have 12 total. May even be able to do a puff ball for the hat.
Guess who has a brand new hat! I calculated that I should be able to get the hat and a 12 rep scarf, so I went ahead and made it. It matches! Isn’t that so cute? Now I’m back to the scarf. Hopefully that’ll go as quickly as it has been.
5 reps, a bit more than 25 inches. It can now wrap all the way around my head once, which means I’ll be able to get a scarf and hat out of the three skeins I have. I still have a few rows left in this one.
Got 4 reps done so far. Only a bit left of this skein, but if I play my cards right, I’ll hopefully be able to get a long enough scarf and a hat out of what I have now. Since it’s an infinity scarf, it has to be long enough to go around my head twice, which is at least 9 reps, and I’d like to end on a full rep.
Finished rep 3 in the car yesterday. I didn’t have wifi access at the time, but I really like how this picture came out with the shadows. If I can get one more rep out of this skein, I’ll probably make a hat, if not, I only have enough yarn for the scarf.
2 reps! Oh gosh I love this yarn so much! Isn’t it pretty? It’s about 10 inches long. My mom and I are on a crafting weekend, so expect fast updates. I may also make a hat to go with, I haven’t decided yet.
My plan for my new alpaca yarn is an infinity scarf. I love scarves if you can’t tell. This is the first rep of a celtic knot pattern. It’s so lovely with the color, almost looks ancient to me. I’m hoping to get about 13-14 reps from the yarn I have, but I may go shorter to see if I can get a hat out of it too.
