But for something more interesting...in my planning doc for the Yuri Loid bro fic I jotted down a change to Chapter 2 so I can set up for a SSS house party-esque scene. Can't wait to write more of Loid's tummy troubles!

As to games, I have loved video games since I was a kid. Not always good at them, but I had cousins and distant relatives who were really good and I could watch them play for hours. It was like Twitch before there was Twitch.

I tend to be a completionist at games I like. The ones I have been obsessed with in the last 10 years include Halo, Borderlands, XCOM, Griftlands, Slay the Spire 1 and 2, and Enter the Gungeon. I have played through Undertale and Civilization V once. I am bad at survival games and RTS. I like watching let's plays of horror games but would never play them myself.

When I was younger I loved JRPGS like Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and Seiken Densetsu. They will always have a special place in my heart. When my husband and I first met we found this was something we had in common. In fact he proposed to me with a ring box resembling the sealed chests in Chrono Trigger. He has played a much wider range of games than I have, and sometimes I'll watch him try out whatever's on sale on Steam.

I'm ambivalent. My life is quite boring right now so I welcome things that could shake up my day. Surprise visits from out-of-state friends, stuff like that. That said, my kids are both on the spectrum and don't do well with changes to routine or unfamiliar settings, so I'm often bound by what's comfortable for them.

It's highly original in the way it tells its story. The long vertical stretch evoking the sensation of falling, the choice of objects and the order in which they appear, the lyrics interspersed throughout it all and the punch of the last line. And the grenade pin!

And I could tell how much effort unso put into every detail. The lines are all so fine and carefully drawn.

I also love the addition she made with Yor, so that instead of a melancholic ending it's a happy one.

I used to be really into pro Starcraft (Broodwar). Had a crush on the Protoss player Bisu. Tasteless and Artosis made the game so much fun to watch with their jokes and banter. I am really bad at the game myself but I'm fascinated by how the pros play and how the meta of the game has evolved despite the fact it was first released in 1998.

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?

The first fic I posted on the internet was in DBZ, but my actual first fanfic was in Animorphs. I don't think I even knew what fanfiction was back then, I was just inspired by the Animorphs universe and wanted to write a backstory for one of the Andalites, Arbron. Of course being in 7th grade I wrote in a Mary Sue Andalite girl who was going to grow up to be his girlfriend or something before he met his tragic fate as a Taxxon. All of this probably makes no sense to anyone unless you have read Animorphs lol. I have never posted this unfinished fic anywhere, it was barely two chapters.

I really loved writing and brainstorming new ideas for original fiction when I was a kid and teenager. When my parents moved out of their old house a few years ago they gave me my old notebooks full of drawings and handwritten drafts of my stories, mostly fantasy and sci-fi. I guess my love for fanfiction grew out of my love for writing in general.

I've always been drawn to tragic heroes, troubled villains and underdogs, and a lot of my early fanfic (and even now) are focused on such characters. I think I saw fanfic as a way to dive into their backstories and theorize how they became the way they are, and possibly give them a happier ending/better redemption arc than they got in canon.

🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

Probably examples of torture used by the KGB. Although on a more whimsical note my husband often provides me with funny ideas like chess boxing as a sport Yuri and Loid can get into in my latest fic!

I think everything should vaguely exist in the same way it does in canon, with the caveat that there are things I personally struggle to see a natural comparison for.

I've thought about maybe having supernatural elements to explain things (Twilights ability disguise for example, but that'd mean Anya's abilities are less unique so I'm still thinking 🤔).

I'm also wary of overthinking it as it's just for fun.

Also, Franky is now an otter!

I was thinking about how he would naturally appear throughout the story and thought an otter using the river would work. Plus, there is history of Otters in West Germany being aggressively hunted and the population increasing in the East, giving him some personal motivations in my head canon...

Generally, wild animals will align with "the east" (or "wild country") and domestic animals will align with the West.

You know what’d be funny. If Yuri found out that Loid and Yor named Franky or someone else as Anya’s guardian in their will if both of them were to pass away. And Yuri blows up like WHAT THE HELL I AM HER UNCLE I SHOULD BE HER GUARDIAN! What you think I can’t take care of a kid? So what if I’m 20? I have a stable high-paying job! I’m mature! I could totally be a single dad! I’d be a better single dad than Loidy ever was!!

this feels so silly and melodramatic of me to post especially because I frequently have long stretches where I don't post anything, but. without giving away too many details, something happened to me a year ago that I thought I'd be fine with by now, but obviously it only got worse and worse and recently ive lost all motivation for everything. im like getting help now and stuff but I don't know how long it will take for me to get better. i don't even know if anyone will read this lol but I'm making this mostly for anyone who sends asks, or comments, or any projects I've started with ppl that I went radio silent on, basically anything that I would normally enthusiastically respond to. a little bit ago I think I posted some stuff saying things along the lines of "life was kicking my butt but we are so back" but alas. I am so not back 🥀

anyways yeah I guess this is just an explanation of sorts in case this is my longest break yet. hopefully it won't and I'll want to draw and post again soon. thank you everyone who has checked in and been understanding of my lacking lol

Hi Tare!! I was thinking recently about all the cliffhangers in SxF and the wild fan theories on what would happen next, and how most of them ended up wrong. As one of the earliest still-active fans, do you have any favorite debunked theories?

I find it's easy to forget as canon rolls on just how much we all worried over the characters' fate during past cliffhangers. e.g. mole arc when the shot was fired and we didn't know who got hit, or just now when Twilight was deathly afraid Yor would recognize Lieutenant Curtis (and she ended up forgetting).

I think it could be fun to jog our memory of all the "could have beens" from the last 100+ chapters!

Debunked theory, huh? 🤔🤔

I tried to rake my memory regarding earlier chapters, but maybe back then we didn't have too much theories because we were such a small fandom back there. Or maybe it's just my memory is bad 🤣🤣

One of the early theory that I love is "what will be the name of the Forger dog".

I remember there were lots of name throwing back then. And personally, I love the name "Peanut". But at the end, Endo choose "Bond", and it's the best of course.

When the dog crisis arc was published, and Handler badassly gave her speech, many theorize about how Anya could be her daughter. This time, we were shown that it was wrong. Handler's family was (sadly) gone during war. And Anya's mother was different person.

And of course, no matter how exciting and dramatic it would be I'm so glad that the theory of "Thorn Princess will be sent to kill Twilight" is seems unlikely now. I know the probabilty hasn't been debunked 100%, but with the development of story as of now (especially since Endo has created a parody of Yor vs Twilight over sweet omelette), it will be unlikely we go that way.

During the bus crisis arc, most of us want either Yor or Twilight to come to rescue the kids. But, at the end, we got Endo made Anya and Damian and Becky shines through the arc, which is as always, the best thing to happen.

And last but not least (no offense to those who love this theory), I am so glad to know that Lt. Chad Curtiss is not Twilight's dad. 🤣🤣 Idk, I've always want that Twilight dad to be dead for good. And well... let Twilight move on with his life.

I think that's the theories I remember being debunked, and I'm happy with Endo's choice 🥰🥰
