I remember when NY radio didn’t have many rap/hip-hop stations.  Every station played only a certain set of music.  Finally the demand was high for R&B, Rap, Hip-Hop.  White kids called in and requested/demanded the music to be played or the ratings fell.  The last two Pop radio stations that finally conceded was 95.5 and Z100.  The same way MTV never wanted to play black artists videos, African American musicians, not even Michael Jackson.  They finally had to concede because it’s what the white kids wanted to see.  Bless BET & Video Music Box for representing the Culture.  They will attempt to close all doors and we will continue to kick them down.

And vice versa, but give credit where credit is due.  That’s all.  Folks really want their feelings hurt about the roots of Country.  They can claim it all they want to but the roots will always be Black.  Rooted in the pain/anguish.  The culture of the cowboy will always be Mexican.  Not because you change the shade doesn’t mean it’s yours.
