Think I just injured my shins on this mornings run.. going to have to get some good compression socks so that i stop getting damn shin splints :’(

Gee i’m tired af today. Swear I ran about 10 miles.. should have tracked it
there was a big guy with his headphones on working out near me the other day.
between his set he just wanders half way across the free weight area and stares out to the cardio section... then he shuffles slightly to the left, slightly to the right, then his shoulders roll a bit, then the guy's full on having a bit of a dance in the middle of the free weight area.
i couldn't help but crack a smile. did he look a bit silly? yeah, he did. was he enjoying himself way more than the rest of us? without a doubt.
i dunno, some times it's just the little things like seeing a guy dancing in the free weight area that put a smile on your face.
Funny Gym story time..
Went to the gym in the evening for my usually after-work routine. The gym is part of a college, and has bar and a hair salon, and a few other parts. Anyway, there was a woman at the desk looking rather anxious. It turns out that there was a hair-dressing conference, with a world class hair-dressing bloke coming in to give a demonstration on cutting men's hair. Unfortunately, the models who were supposed to have their hair cut were stuck in traffic and weren't going to make it.
I was asked if I wanted a free hair-cut; they were desperate for anyone, and apparently at least 20 other men had already refused, so I thought why not (I'm not one to turn down something for free).
So I started my routine, and then was pulled out half way through so I could have my hair washed and "pre-cut" (being a bloke, I've never had my hair washed at a salon before), and made to wear some spare t-shirts they had instead of my neon blue (and now slightly sweaty) gym t-shirt.
Had to wait for about 30 minutes for the thing to start and then sit through about an hour of hair-dressing tips before I was ready to get mine cut. There was an audience of about 40 or so. Since none of models had turned up, alongside me was one of the guys that work at the gym, and the security guard who worked there, who'd also been dragged into getting his hair cut.
It took about an hour to have my hair cut, and then I managed to go back and finish my gym routine. Not quite what I expected from my gym trip!

Got dared to hold a plank for 10 minutes. I was able to make it to the 6 minute mark! Kind of impressed. Lets see if I can go the whole way next week..
my bestie just cooked this amazing meal. usually i load up on protein but light meals like this are a nice break!

so the past few weeks i’ve been struggling.. came down with the flu and then decided to skip the gym. I was meant to get back into it after I recovered but I had been away so long that it then led to more excuses.
No more though.
I am BACK.
I am ready to keep working towards my goals

The biggest piece of advice I could ever give to long-term success with health is to find something you love in health and fitness and become obsessed with it. So much so that you don't want to stop, ever. I love the art of transforming the human body... not only is it fascinating to me to see what our bodies can do but I fell in love the science of the nutrition behind it. Once you find that passion, it doesn't feel like a chore 🙌🏼
