I'm fairly sure this coyote survived being shot in the muzzle. There's a small entry wound and a huge exit wound that took out several teeth. Both are well healed. Coyotes are made of extra lives I swear. And people suck.
Eyeball coyote jaws! The first one features an amber stone. All three sold at the Denver Oddities Expo!

Just out of curiosity - what's wrong with owning taxidermy bats? I have an interest in taxidermy and I like purchasing vintage pieces and I'd like to know if there's an ethical or safety reason not to acquire bats. I don't have any, but wouldn't have paused at buying one. Maybe I should?
Great question to ask; I would definitely pause on buying one especially if it’s from an online store like eBay.
Bat skeletons and taxidermy have become hugely popular among oddity collectors over the past decade, but unfortunately there is growing evidence to suggest the vast majority of these specimens are harvested unethically. Many threatened and vulnerable bat species are among those hunted to satisfy this demand. Bat conservationists and the IUCN have advised to refrain from buying any type of bat remains in order to protect their populations in the wild.

Bat taxidermy can be found across the internet and scientists fear they're being poached from the wild to satisfy the trend.
I sincerely apologize to the cyclist I passed on my bike while there was a roadkill grey fox strapped to my hind rack, wrapped in my coat with its little head sticking out looking at the guy behind me, blood dripping from its mouth and onto my fender. And also to any drivers that saw this, god.
LETS GO anti poaching win

*Finds dead bird in receiving as I'm leaving work*
*Hastily puts it in a ziploc bag and throws it in my backpack*
*Tosses the ziploc bag onto my bed while I ID it to see if it's legal for me to keep (yeah, gross, whatever)*
*Finds it's protected- oh well. Goes to move it to under some nearby bushes*
*The bag has a tear. Oh god. The maggots have been crawling out and onto my bed. Oh god.*
*Collects all the maggots I see and throws them outside along with the bird, vacuums the room, washes all my blankets and sheets, takes a long hot shower*
It has been maybe a week. One by one since yesterday, the flies have appeared. I don't know where the maggots hid. I've killed 7 or 8 flies, there are currently several buzzing around. I've just opened my window and taken the screen out hoping they'll just choose freedom. Send help.
Horse Hoof Bones! These are the coffin bone ( aka distal phalanx ) which is the bone inside a horse's hoof, the short pastern bone ( aka second phalanx ) and the long pastern bone ( aka the first phalanx ). Really neat specimen to use for reference.
Available HERE in my Etsy shop!
Recently built a new bookcase (1st image) and it lines nicely with my old one (2nd image). Specimens are no longer cramped in one place!

I need vulture culture practitioners in Ontario!!!
As some of you guys know, I’m currently in school for documentary film. A large portion of that involves actually making my first film (ahhhh) under supervision from my mentor. I’ve decided that film is going to be about vulture culture.
I’m still in the early research & development stages at the moment! Planning for shooting to take place in spring/summer 2024.
I’m looking for participants who would be willing to do interviews, show me their collections, their workspaces (yes, i want to smell the maceration soup), and take me along on any vulture activities.
If you’re interested, send me an email at [email protected] with a little about yourself, any social media links, photos of your work. Make sure to let me know what city in Ontario you’re located in!!
No, I am not like Dahmer. That dumbass cleaned his skulls with bleach whereas I know to clean them with hydrogen peroxide

What a wonderful, evocative, REAL sculpture. It really brings home how these were living thing, flesh and blood, not immortal. Fellow earthlings.
