Welcome
Following a massive spike in notes recently (new Tumblr users ig) and my follower count increasing more in a week than it did in the past 3 months, I decided to make this pinned post to help you navigate this blog
What is this blog about?
Basically, Tumblr is the only platform where I can write essays analyzing the Beyblade anime and get any sort of response (Twitter has a character limit, Facebook has privacy concerns, etc.) Pretty much the entirety of this blog is dedicated to Beyblade. My main blog is @mach-speed-extra where I post non-beyblade content
Tags
#beyblade: pretty much all of my posts. Those not tagged with this usually mean asks not related to Beyblade
#mfb: Metal Fight Beyblade, aka the Beyblade metal saga. Encompasses Metal Fusion, Metal Masters, Metal Fury, and Shogun Steel
#beyburst and #beyblade burst: The Beyblade Burst series. Encompasses Burst, Evolution, Turbo, Rise, Surge, and Quad Drive
#beywarriors: For the Nelvana spinoffs. Encompasses Beywheelz, Beyraiderz, and Cyborg
#beyblade x: It’s for Beyblade X
#character design analysis: Send me a Beyblade character and I’ll write an analysis on their design and how it evolved over time. More info on this post
I plan on reorganizing my blog to add a tag specific to the original series/ Bakuten Shoot, but I don’t have on yet
Asks
Ongoing ask games
The character design analysis will always be open unless I eventually cover every character in the entire franchise. If I have any other ongoing ask games, I’ll put them here
This character ask is also open
Other than that, feel free to send me asks about anything. I’ll reply to them as long as they’re sfw
Beyblade FAQ
What is Beyblade: Customizable spinning tops with a tie-in manga, anime, and several video games
In what order do I watch the series: There are 4 main series (plus spinoffs). These are original series, aka Bakuten Shoot, the metal saga/Metal Fight, Burst, the Nelvana spinoffs, and X. They are unrelated and you can watch them in any order, but personally I suggest Bakuten Shoot, then Metal Fight, then the spinoffs, then Burst, and finally X due to order of release and because there are some easter eggs based on previous series (even if minor). Within each series, there are multiple seasons. Bakuten Shoot consists of Beyblade, Beyblade V-Force, and Beyblade G-Revolution. Metal Fight consists of Beyblade Metal Fusion, Beyblade Metal Masters, Beyblade Metal Fury, and Beyblade Shogun Steel. The spinoffs are Beywheelz, Beywarriors Beyraiderz, and Beywarriors Cyborg. Burst consists of Beyblade Burst, Beyblade Burst Evolution, Beyblade Burst Turbo, Beyblade Burst Rise, Beyblade Burst Surge, Beyblade Burst QuadDrive, and Beyblade Burst QuadStrike. Beyblade X is still on its first season
Where can I buy beyblades: Amazon, ebay, local stores, etc. Just make sure they have the Takara Tomy or Hasbro logo on the boxes (for the original series, look for the Takara or Hasbro logo, as Takara hadn’t merged with Tomy yet). In certain regions, you may find beyblades under Young Toys, Sonokong, or BeyBattle Burst brands, These are TT beys, just repackaged/rebranded for certain regions.
Beyblade brands: Hasbro and Takara Tomy are real. Sonokong (plastics and mfb) and Young Toys (Burst) distribute beys in South Korea, simply importing from TT. BeyBattle Burst are TT products rebranded for the MENA region. Everything else is fake and may contain lead (very bad). Just look for the logo on the boxes. Hasbro and TT are compatible with each other for the original series metal fight, and X but not for Burst (discs are cross compatible, but nothing else is). Sonokong, Young Toys, and BeyBattle Burst use TT molds, and as such are compatible with TT and each other (same goes for Hasbro’s Pro Series)
Where can I watch the anime: YouTube has the English dubs for the original series and the metal saga. Burst is on Netflix (in some regions), but piracy seems to be the most popular way of watching it for those outside those regions. Same for X
Where can I find the anime subbed: Metal fight subs are practically nonexistent. The second half of Burst God is not subbed. Everything else is, so just shoot me a DM and I’ll give you a link (I recommend an adblocker)
Where can I read the manga: Excellent question. English translations are all fan scans, with most not being in great quality. Still, the original series manga can be found on totally legitimate sites (same for Rising and X). As for metal fight, Burst, the Blader DJ spinoffs, or Saint Lolita, I have no clue
