machinewithapurpose replied to your post:{命}— “—Valentine’s day.”
"If you do not mind me inquiring, what is with all the pink that has appeared? Is it the work of the Shadows?"
{命}— “ ……………… ”
{命}— “—I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be here, if that was the case.”
#“no. it's not them. it's actually us... people. consider it a very strange tradition for us.”
"So humans have a tradition of celebrating the aortic pump? I am inclined to ask why."

"…" Takaya stood there silently as he was prepared for anything that might come out from this girl. She was strange and has weird gadgets surrounding her that Takaya didn’t know. Who was she? It was good enough to let her speak before saying.
Looking at the man, Aigis found herself taking a half-step backwards. She could sense some sort of danger from this man, although she didn't even know why herself.
"......"
She stayed silent for at first but eventually decided to speak.
"You...are dangerous."
[It's getting really late so I'm going to bed now. I'll reply to things tomorrow, oh and
happy Valentine's day everyone! Or what little left of it there is for me.]
Persona 3 -Midsummer Knight's Dream- PV05 [X]
"What exactly is 'Valentine's Day'? Is it a holiday in celebration of the color pink, and the human aortic pump?"
[Hey! Just a post to say that I'm a relatively new Persona 3 Aigis RP blog, that's set in-game, looking for blogs to follow.
If your a Persona, or Persona related, RP blog it'd be much appreciated if you could reblog this post!
Thank you!]
→ { 縁 } || Once your response was heard—And once her reply was heard, you turned your sight, back on the road, getting back on the focus of returning your dorm. Your hands were comfortably kept in your pockets, as you made some use of those legs of yours. Aigis was correct. It was probably best for them to hurry on, considering the stuff that can happen if one of them weren’t around…
› (Which, you’ve been a witness to one of those… Kind of.)
› It wasn’t much of a special day. Rather, it was an ordinary one. No snow, but it wasn’t much sunny. Not too cold, but not too warm. Not too windy, but you could still feel the air, blowing around you. There wasn’t much difficulties with getting back yourself, back “home.” Even with your own feet. (Plus, considering the lack of electricity, around the dark hour and all, you were quite used to it…)
…
› … You could feel yourself, as if being watched by someone—Being looked at by someone, to be more specfic. The feeling was familiar, infact. You have an assumption on who it is.* Yet, you remain yourself, concentrated on the road—Not making any kinds of eye-contact with the person.
› But you then hear the question. It causes you to blink. It catches your attention. Again, you slowly turn your head to the “robot-maid,” having your sight being completely focused on her, while your walk has gone through a slow pace.
{命}— “… Your own decisions.” —You say.
{命}— “.. When fate doesn’t exist, and the one that can actually decide and be responsible for their actions, is you, yourself.”
› Fate… Does such a thing even exist? You wonder.
Walking alongside the other, Aigis heard his response and began to think. Something she rarely did before now. Why she had even asked such a question was something she didn't even know. She didn't process it, he didn't think about what she was saying. It just escape almost like...she mad the decision to just say it.
...Like she had the free will to ask anything she wanted to. Was that...free will? Was this was Minato meant by making your own decisions? Being responsible for your own actions?
She always had the ability to act like a human, thanks to the module built into her. In fact, it was thanks to that module that she was able to summon her persona. Without a personality that would be all but impossible. However, it never occurred to her that she could decide what to do, and make her own decisions.
She was almost held down by fate. Her purpose, but she could feel something more. Her own desires. That was most likely what that strange feeling to be beside this person was all about.
"I see...fate is something that does no exist. Free will gives you the ability to choice your own path."
Aigis thought about what she was told once again,
"...Your decision just now to walk alongside me was of your own free will. But my instructions to fight alongside the SEES is now. ...Does free will exist to me? Are my own choices just artificial? Are they programmed ..."
Aigis looked up suddenly and shook her head. She had gone into a spurt.
"...I give my apologies. I suggest you engage in ignoring what I just stated."
› You hear her response. Your expression remains as the same as before. This time, you don’t say anything. But you simply give her words a nod. There wasn’t much of a point to speak out, due to how both of you, had already told eachother’s words, and decisions. You decide to keep your hands into your pockets, just like usual.
› There was a mental sigh. Looking up at the sky, you begin to wonder in your thoughts. Tartarus… Despite the information that you’ve all acquired lately (especially from that summer vacation), you still feel the mentally-itching feeling, coming from the possibilities of other mysteries.
› And some of the remaining ones, too. You rarely knew much about the girl, for example. Other then the fact that she was an ”Anti-Shadow weapon”—A ”robot maid”, according to Ikutsuki. Whether you did mind them, or not—Her decisions, and attachment to you… It does confuse you…
… You shrugged the thoughts off. This wasn’t some kind of… A strange visual novel, anyway. You aren’t a detective, and you’re certainly not a lawyer. If you were going to Tartarus tomorrow, then it was probably best for you to return to the dorm and save your energy up.
› Looking back on your way, and assuming that the conversation was over. Once again, you decide to go back on your feet, attempting to have a walk, back to the dorm. You quickly stopped yourself, though, as soon as you heard that question.
You turn your head over to her side. Despite the fact that you couldn’t see her, considering the short distance between you two.
{命}— “—I was planning to do that, actually.”
{命}— “… Do whatever you want.”
…Not that you felt bothered by her being passively around you, anyway. Could get used to it. Could get used to it…
Aigis heard his rather disinterested reply and proceed to calculate the best route back to the dorm. Although he seemed disinterested, she wondered what was really going on in that brain of his. Not that she really understood emotions that well...but she could still tell that humans don't always show how they really feel.
Still, she proceed to give a small nod.
"In that case, let us proceed to the dorm. It is fast approaching the evening."
She began to walk, but as she did she found herself turning to look at her companion. It was rather strange, how she was feeling right now. Normally she would just see data, purposes, missions, what she had been told to do whenever she looked at someone. But with him, she could feel something more...that strange feeling she had.
In fact, her main desire during battles wasn't to protect the SEES, but rather to protect him. It just felt like it was her purpose. ...Almost like she had a hidden purpose she wasn't aware of herself. Was this what human being's called "free-will"?
Even now, she could feel the questions burning up inside of her, waiting to be released. She was a robotic machine, who collected information after all. All she could do was ask.
"....What is free will?"
the struggle is real Junpei
> There was a slight feeling of expectation, as you awaited for her response, but there was a feeling of puzzlement afterwards, after her words. You didn’t expect her to apologize and take the blame. You’re certainly approvable of that, though, as you consider this, not being her fault.
> … You decided, not to continue the topic and leave it be, though. It’s probably best to not make such a big deal out of something as small as this. Plus, having a banter battle with a robot, would gain quite much attention for you. And you have a feeling that’s not how you would like to gain attention…
> You hear the words about Tartarus, and you wonder. There wasn’t any coming exams, or anything as such. He doubted that Mitsuru would deny the access into going there, but he was unsure about the others. It was a sunday. Sundays were the free, short days for them, after all…
> If you did decide to go, though… Oh boy. You could already hear the future excitement, coming from your certain goat-bearded friend. If he didn’t have any plans, and if boredom hasn’t stricken him by that day, atleast. There was Akihiko, yes. The excitement of Junpei’s was literally incomparable, though…
{命}— “… I see.”
{命}— “…I don’t have much to do, so I wouldn’t mind going. I suppose… If most are willing to go—tomorrow, we’ll have a go for it. We’ll have to make sure to ask Mitsuru for permission, though… We’ll be ready by then.”
Hearing the teenage boy's rather reply, Aigis noted just how "unambiguously emoted" it was, as if he didn't actually care about what she was saying. Although, his reply was, as she had been programmed to believe, a positive one. After all, her mission, her purpose right now, was to protect everyone and aid them in searching Tartarus.
But especially this one person. For some reason, she wanted to protect him above everyone else, but she didn't know why. She was supposed to be a machine, a robotic weapon and although she had been built with the ability to grow a personality, she had been reprogrammed not too long ago. Not that she could really remember any of this, all she could recall was what she had built up after her apparent reprogramming.
"In that case, I will inform Mitsuru-kun that we will be able to proceed higher into Tartarus."
Looking down, Aigis felt a small hint of a feeling, the same kind that she felt on the first day of school. The one that made her want to keep an eye on Minato and protect him at all costs. Although it was such a small feeling that she wondered if it was even emotions. She was a robot, not a human. Why would she be feeling this? Even with her personality module, she couldn't understand. For all of her time functioning, she had relied on her purpose and systems to understand what to do.
This was the first time that she had felt even a hint of anything else.
"...Is your location of destination the dorm? If it is, I shall assist you in returning."

[ Although she was asking, she didn’t seem all that interested… Perhaps she was having a bad day? ]
"Hello, Miss Algis," Pearl responded with a small smile. "I’m Pearl. Pearl Fey."
Pearl Fey certainly was a weird name to find around these parts, although Aigis didn't pay attention to that.
Her information on this girl's appearance didn't compute with information she had been told. Why was she not in the "school uniform", as they were apparently called? It was nearing school time after all.
"Fey-kun, I fear I must warn you that penalty in failing to wear the proper attire to the school premise is swift and immediate death."
...In reality, it didn't really result in death. That would, of course, be ridiculously over the top. Aigis had just over-heard Junpei say that if he didn't turn up to school in his uniform, he'd be killed by the teachers. That's the problem with being a machine, with the purpose to collect information and destroy shadows, with little emotional input. It often caused Aigis to take things far to literally.

SCANNING SUBJECT: Subject unidentifiable. Teenager, female, unusual clothes by human standards.

"Greetings. I do not believe we have become acquainted before." She spoke in a rather emotionless tone. "I am Aigis."

{命}— “—Aigis?”
> You felt your shoulder, being bumped onto something—Someone. It catches your attention, and you quickly notice what—Who it was. It seems that you have just crashed right onto one of your acquintances…
> [sorry.]
> are you alright?
> good evening.
{命}— “… Sorry. Didn’t see you there.”
> … You’re not sure if she’d understand*, but… You gave it a try, atleast.
Without even thinking, Aigis quickly began to analyse who the other was, and their reaction to what had happened, her inbuilt systems going straight to work.
With her having been built to have a personality, and to act like a human, she was built with the ability to adapt a personality. Like a electronic "soul", that made her emote. Although such a thing was hardly something she even got to adapt having spent the last 10 years void of most contact with humans.
Of course, humans themselves have the ability to input basic "artificial reactions" into machines, which was exactly how Aigis was able to communicate somewhat fluently with humans. And all of the process was down within a split second within her systems.
> SCANNING SUBJECT: Subject confirmed to be Minato Arisato.
> SCANNING SITUATION: Situation confirmed to be a "Accidental run-in", common among human beings.
> SCANNING REACTION: Reaction is apologetic to situation. React accordingly.
"You do not have to express your apologies. I am at fault." Her monotonic voice was evidence enough of how her response was inbuilt. "Minato-kun. It is in my best interest to inform you that there is no school tomorrow. Therefore, we are free to explore Tartarus as much as possible tonight."
ROBOTS OR DINOSAURS?
"I believe this is what people would call a ‘ironic’ situation." Aigis states in her rather flat, monotone voice.
"The fact that I am technically a robotic machine means I will obviously be biased towards robots. However, I am afraid I have no knowledge of dinosaurs. Therefore, I am unable to make a impartial judgement on this matter."
