The Cabin in the Woods (2012) dir. Drew Goddard
Can someone add the context, please? I can’t remember it word for word.
Context: In the world of the film, horror-movie style events (i.e. a bunch of teens being murdered in a cabin in the woods by zombies) are actually a form of human sacrifice set up by various secret government organizations. If at least one of these operations succeeds, the Old Gods will be sated and won’t destroy the planet. The main plot of the film deals with the American branch’s attempt, which isn’t going too well, and this scene happens after they’ve noted that the Japanese branch has apparently never failed, before showing a bunch of schoolgirls being terrorized by a Ring-style evil ghost.
Then in this scene, we see the schoolgirls managed to seal the ghost inside a frog by holding hands and singing a Shinto prayer. This apparently happened with zero fatalities, meaning that now it’s down to the American branch to pull off the ritual and kill those teenagers.
If anyone reading this hasn’t seen “The Cabin in the Woods,” go correct that. It’s a wild movie, and the whole premise is a metaphor for horror movies as a genre.
Basically it’s a takedown of how formulaic horror movies tend to be. As it goes on, you can see the shadowy agents manipulating circumstances, and even the actions of the main characters, in order to make things play out closer to the genre cliches. Near the end, a character even breaks down the structure of the ritual and how the victims all fall into various archetypes, as well as the very specific type of person the “final girl” needs to be in order to be allowed to survive the ordeal, among other things.
The Old Gods are stand-ins for the audience, who will likely reject the movie if it isn’t what they expect to see. I once heard from someone who saw it in the theater that a couple sitting near them walked out after things started going off the rails, unwittingly demonstrating the movie’s point for it.
i enjoy that their list of horror movie badguys includes ‘unicorn’ and ‘kevin’

TUESDAY AGAIN NO PROBLEM
Last “Tuesday Again? No Problem” of the decade
I HAVE WAITED ALL YEAR TO POST THIS
I'm sure you posted it before, but do you have a link where we can view all your comics of Elastigale in order? I didn't ship them before, but now that I've found your blog I can't get enough! I'd love to see their romance blossom from the beginning
Thank you so much!
Regarding reading comics in order, you have a couple options! I have put chronologically-ordered links to most of the comics here. (Unfortunately you can’t view this link in Tumblr Mobile. Please use a regular browser!)
I haven’t updated that list in a couple months, so some of the more recent comics aren’t listed yet.
You can also read the zines in order:
The first zine in particular is HUGE and encompasses over a hundred pages of comics from their first meeting till Helen leaves for college.
Chronologically, my next zine is about Gail meeting Bob (and also an nsfw epilogue with Helen!)
The third zine is cute and 18+ (and for those looking carefully, also offers a little glimpse of Gail and Bob’s relationship)
And my most recent zine is set much farther ahead in the timeline, after Gail’s accident. For all the story so far in between, you’ll need to check the aforementioned comics list.
And as a reminder, the most recent zine (All about Voyd!) is out!
Thanks for all your support, y’all. I hope your holidays are going amazingly, and that once I’m home I can start posting some previews of the upcoming comics. <3

if you’re confused about the impeachment stuff, here you go! The house has voted to impeach him. The senate still needs to.
As of 12/18/19 at 8:43 pm, the House has voted to impeach. The senate trial has not begun yet. The senate is held by majority republican, so keep that in mind.
Don’t.
Ask me.
Aaanything.
Don’t worry, guys. I made a compilation of the best Griffin McElroy vines, so everything is going to be okay
I finally have context for this image and that makes it so much better
