With tyrus being openly out, Andi's trying to be more than friends with Amber, and Muffy being competitive as ever. Jonah being.. Jonah- everything is fine! Until Andi's cousin moved back from Cali, and nothing could go wrong from there right? Johnny, the boy that Andi, Buffy and Cyrus remembered growing up with, never thought anything would've gone wrong. god i just realised. in the first episode when luke went by connorโs house. luke skated over to pick him up. they usually walk and/or skate to school together. fuck. holy shit. we were robbed of that.

โJust start without me. I have to do my homework,โ Connor said, looking up at Luke, who had just walked in telling him that they were starting the movie soon. โNo.โ
โWhat do you mean, no?โ asked Connor.
โI mean, no,โ Luke restated, climbing onto Connorโs bed and closing his laptop, moving it away from him. Luke climbed over Connor and stretched out over his body, leaning into his arms. Connor snaked his arms around Lukeโs shoulders and pressed a kiss to his temple, threading his fingers through Lukeโs hair.
โI guess I can do my homework later,โ he murmured, and Luke smiled, pushing himself up slightly to kiss Connorโs cheek. Connor moved his hand down to Lukeโs face, and cupping his cheek, kissed his lips.
โThanks, Con,โ Luke replied in between kisses, blushing slightly.ย
โโCourse,โ Connor said, โanything for my angel.โ
โSoooo,โ Hanna said down in the living room, tucking her foot under her and sitting down on the couch. โWhat are we watching tonight?โ
โConnor said IT one,โ Gabby said, from her spot on the floor in front of Hanna, next to Jai.ย
Hanna crossed her arms. โWho is currently not here,โ she said under her breath.
Jai snorted. โHeโs probably in the kitchen making out with his boyfriend.โ
โJai!โ Hanna exclaimed hitting him with a pillow.
โAm I wrong?โ he asked.
Gabby gave a noncommittal jerk of her head. โHeโs most likely not wrong.โ
โGabby! Not you too!โ Hanna groaned.ย
โHanna, you canโt say that there hasnโt been something else since Luke โgripped him tight and raised him from perdition,โโ Jai said, making finger quotes in the air.ย
โJai-โ Hanna started but broke off as the door opened and Connor and Luke walked in.ย
โSpeak of the devil,โ Jai smirked.
Hanna rolled her eyes and Gabby laughed lightly.ย
โWhatchya talking about?โ Luke asked, walking over to sit in the corner of the couch. Connor followed close behind with a bowl of popcorn.
โNothing,โ Gabby said quickly.ย
โOkay,โ Luke said skeptically as Jai stretched out his arms, reaching for the popcorn bowl. Connor handed it to him, then sat down in between Luke and Hanna.ย
โโS it queued up?โ he asked and no one spoke. โSeriously?โ Sighing, he got up and turned on the tv in his living room.
โSorry that we donโt know how to work the tv,โ Jai replied and Connor just rolled his eyes, pulling the disc of the first IT movie out of the tv stand. โAnd where the disc was,โ Jai added as Connor turned on the tv and put the disk into the player.
โItโs not like youโve been over to my house a million times, Jai.โ
Luke put his arm up on the side of the couch and said, โhe hasnโt. Heโd be talking with Seth while weโre hanging out.โ
โOkay, the funky dude isnโt that bad,โ Jai protested.
โNo, heโs that bad,โ Hanna said. Jai shrugged and shoveled popcorn into his mouth while Connor took his spot again, Lukeโs arm shifting closer to him as he clicked play and the opening scene started up, with the volume high enough to drown out almost any other noise.
โIโm thinking it mightโve been a bad idea to watch IT after the Shadowman,โ Gabby said, 30 minutes into the movie. Sheโd migrated to the couch now, and she and Hanna were both under a blanket, and Jai had piled pillows on the floor and was lounging across them.ย
From the opposite side of the couch, Connor, who had his head resting on Lukeโs shoulder, spoke. โYeah, probably. Bad planning on my part.โ
โOr maybe it was just a ploy to get me to hold you,โ Luke whispered into Connorโs ear, careful not to let the others hear.ย
Connor smiled, blushing slightly, and looked up at Luke. โYou look really cute when you do that, too,โ Luke added.โShut up,โ he muttered, but moved closer into Lukeโs side anyway, and The Midnight Society (minus Seth) sat in silence for a few more minutes before someone spoke. โWeโre out of popcorn,โ Jai said, lifting the empty bowl above his head. Connor flicked his eyes over to where Jai was.
โWeโll make it,โ Hanna announced, grabbing the bowl from Jai and standing up. โCโmon.โ She motioned with her hand. Gabby blinked and looked around in confusion, but stood up and followed Hanna. โAnd you can keep watching the movie,โ Hanna added as she held the door to the hallway open for Gabby.
Gabby yawned as she walked over to the counter where the Stevensโ air popper and popcorn kernels were already out from the last batch. It was when Gabby had measured out the kernels and started the machine that Hanna finally spoke. โGabby?โ she asked hesitantly.
โHm?โ
โI have something to tell you,โ Hanna said, wringing her hands nervously. Gabby turned around to look at her and jumped up onto the countertop. โIโm listening,โ she replied when Hanna didnโt speak.ย
โWhat? Oh, yeah.โ Hanna rubbed her eyes. โGabby? I like you. Like, romantically like you. Like, like, you,โ she confessed, starting to pace. โAnd I get that you might not be okay with that, which is fine, I guess, and I wonโt mention this again if thatโs the case and we can pretend this never happened, cause I still want to be your friend, even if Iโm not your girlfriend.โ
โHanna.โ
โYes?โ Hanna asked apprehensively, stopping in front of Gabby.
Gabby smiled. โI like you too. Like, like, you.โ
Hanna immediately felt like a weight had been lifted off her chest. โYou do?โ Her voice came out breathless and strained.ย
โI do,โ Gabby assured, reaching an arm out to Hanna. Hanna stepped forward shakily, then again, and again, until she was right in front of Gabby. She could smell Gabbyโs flowery scent that accompanied her everywhere; the cherry chapstick on her lips.ย
โCan I kiss you?โ Gabby whispered, which Hanna still heard over her frantic pulse and the air popper in the background. She nodded and Gabby leaned in slowly.ย
When their lips met, Hanna felt the whole world disappear. It was only her and Gabby. She felt Gabby pull her closer and she unconsciously leaned in and deepened the kiss, her arms moving around Gabbyโs waist.ย
Meanwhile, Gabby moved her hands up Hannaโs arms to her face to touch Hannaโs cheeks gently, her ankles hooked together behind Hannaโs legs.ย
They finally broke apart after the first couple of popcorn kernels popped. Gabby leaned down and touched her forehead to Hannaโs, both of them smiling breathlessly.
โSo you really like me?โ Hanna asked.โYes, I really like you,โ Gabby responded, tucking a strand of Hannaโs hair behind her ear. Hanna smiled and kissed Gabby again.ย
โOkay.โย
โOkay,โ Gabby repeated, pulling Hanna in for a hug, only letting go when they heard the popcorn stop popping. Hanna pulled away, placing a chaste kiss on Gabbyโs lips, then walked to turn off the air popper.
โJai will want salt and butter,โ Gabby told Hanna.ย
โWell,โ Hanna stated, grabbing the salt, โsucks for him, cause heโs just having salt.โGabby grinned as Hanna shook the salt over the popcorn, then shook the bowl lightly. โReady?โ Hanna asked, holding her hand out for Gabby to take.
โWhat are we gonna tell the rest of the Midnight Society?โ Gabby asked quietly.ย
Hanna lowered her hand. โWe can decide tomorrow. They donโt need to know yet if youโre not ready. That okay?โ
Gabby nodded.
โAnd besides,โ Hanna continued, โtheyโre all fine with my moms, anyway.โ
Gabby nodded and Hanna held out her hand again. This time, Gabby took it, smiling, and hopped off the counter.ย
โThank you,โ Jai drew out when Hanna handed him the bowl, and Hanna nodded in return, settling down on the couch with Gabby. Hanna opened her arms and Gabby leaned into her chest.ย
โYou know, I think if the Losers were actually smart, they wouldnโt run to try and stop IT,โ Jai said, holding his arm up vertically. โI mean like, Pennywise was gonna take them anyway most likely. Itโs kinda useless.โ
โJai, you do realize what we did when Connor was missing, right?โ Hanna asked incredulously.ย
โWell yeah. But thatโs cause we had a friend missing.โ
There was an awkward silence. โJai, Georgie was missing. Heโs Billโs brother,โ Luke deadpanned.ย
Jai blinked. โYeah okay, I see your point.โ
The rest of the movie passed relatively smoothly, Gabby falling asleep first, two-thirds of the way through the movie, her head resting on Hannaโs shoulder. Hanna fell asleep 10 minutes after that, and then Jai during the last scene in the field.ย
โThat was fun,โ Luke whispered at 1:30 am when the movie ended and the credits started.ย
โYeah,โ Connor whispered back, neither of them bothering to get up and turn the tv off just yet.ย
โWatching this movie makes me realize how glad I am to have you back,โ Luke told Connor, running his hands through Connorโs hair and then kissing his hairline.ย
โI wouldnโt want to be anywhere else,โ Connor replied, and they fell into an easy silence. When the credits finally stopped, Connor reluctantly pulled away from Luke.
โWhere are you going?โ Luke whined, flopping on the couch, reaching for Connor.
โI have to put away the disk and turn off the tv,โ Connor answered, bending down and taking the remote from Jaiโs hand, then clicking the tv off. โBut we can go to my room after.โ
โOh, okay,โ Luke said, standing up and waiting in the doorway. When they left the room, they didnโt have to turn off the lights. All the members of the Midnight Society now had strings of lights hung up around their houses, and Connorโs living room was no differentโthere was a string of white Christmas lights around the room, and the actual lights had been off for a while.ย
It was nearing 4 am when the sky had started lightening in the summer morning that Luke and Connor were both laying in Connorโs bed finally trying to sleep. Their legs were intertwined and they were both laying on their sides, facing each other. โIโm really glad youโre my boyfriend, angel,โ Connor whispered.
โIโm super glad youโre my boyfriend, too, Con,โ Luke whispered back, brushing a stray strand of hair out of Connorโs face, then kissing him again. With that, they both drifted off into a peaceful sleep in each othersโ arms.
Charles: Yesterday I overheard Kurt saying "Are you sure about this?" and Peter replying with "Trust me" and I have never moved from one room to another so fast in my life
I'm watching "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", Season 2. And I'm annoyed. Spoilers.
Episode one, Connor goes missing and his best friend Luke can't think of anything else. It is so clearly coded that Luke has a crush on him. He dreams about him ffs. Gets flustered with him. He's worried while the other friends barely care. He knows him best.
Now, episode three, that came to a screeching halt and was thrown into reverse, he's all but forgotten about Connor, and is suddenly super into a girl into his friend group, Hanna. It's such an extreme shift, it's giving me whiplash. Nickelodeon definitely stepped in and went "we already have lesbian moms, that's more than enough representation, the main boy needs to be straight!". That's what it feels like, anyway.
