Another dumb update no one asked for
Uhhh, pc died last week. With some important homework i needed for that day. Uncle was able to recover it from the drive.
My brother saved the pc today but had to factory reset it. Gladly i keep my most important stuff (aka sims 2) on the other drive. Anyways i managed to recover an old firefox backup and now i gotta reinstall all my junk again. Man i would have preffered to just have to buy another piece or smth because i am way too lazy to reinstall everything rn.
I haven't played my game because i still haven't bothered to bring my most recent backup up to date to the corrupted one.
Also also my birthday was the 1st, i am 24 now yippiee
Lost motivation to play for weeks and first time i load my game and... SEVERAL missing sims :DDD and my latest backup has them missing as well!!!!
My last backup without missing sims is from november... yaaaaaaayyyyy
I'm already trying to figure out what the fuck am i supposed to do, i want to throw up :')
The worst part is that there were two families that were a slog to get through their rotations, and those two were the few that i lost... ugh.
My current plan is to go to bed and when i have the chance to open the game again to go into the messed save, take notes of as much as possible on the 5 families i've played since november (i've never been so glad to loose motivation to play the game or else i would've lost even more), then return the backup and add everything that happened in simpe. There was one baby that will be lost so i'll have to extract their appearance...
Something something, joke about how playing sims 2 is more about editing stuff in simPe than actually running the game

Had to factory reset my pc, which means i gotta install my game again somehow. Gladly i did backup ALL of my files so in theory i should just drop them into the correct folders and i'd have my game back where it was.
Funny how out of ALL the stuff i should be restoring, i'm reinstalling sims 2 first lol. I'll report back
Got the game installed and all the extra stuff i had in there, now i am on the process of moving the files from my backup into the installation folder (also i got the AL splash music i forgot to backup ages ago)
Also my cat brought a huge dead mouse, like comically large for her small size. My brother's cat was the designated "mouser" but he moved out with said cat, at least we now know that our current little goob can deal with them.

I tought it had failed bc it took waaaay to loong to load, then i gave up and restarted the pc and it loaded in *check's discord* 40-ish minutes (it probably would have taken less had i used the shortcut that loads me directly into cas)
So yeah now i have a working pc, and i know the starter pack i archived for myself does work for the next time i need to reinstall my game or share it with a friend :)

So uh, yeah
I'm cleaning my downloads folders,,, i'm nowhere near done but i've gotten ridden of so many annoying outfits and hairs i never used and could not find.
The biggest issue is that i have a correlated werewolf default that i edited before i knew how to correctly use simPE so the texture is pixelated and must have deleted the exported textures, i tried looking for the original download several times and can't find it ANYWHERE... so i'll keep my pixelated werewolves for now
Spent a bit editing mods i like to get rid of little details that had been bothering me for ages.
Mods that enable breastfeeding can be a bit annoying when you play a lot with gay couples and trans sims.
"ma'am stop trying to nurse that baby, your husband was the one who gave birth to it!" is something i say way too often when i play
You know, i like my elder sims being super decrepit and old. But i don't like all of them being like that. Didn't make sense for my sims, who spent all of her adulthood being a ballerina with max body skill, to not stay in shape as an elder. I could edit some of my adult cc to be available for elders, but as soon as she'd shower it'd go away, not even mentioning the saggy elder boobs showing with certain swimsuits/underwear..... so what did i spent way too much time doing?
Looked at a showerproof skin tutorial and used the adult maxis meshes on elders and also repo-ed it to the maxis skin, so now i can have fit elders. All this for like... two elders in my game
Also they do pick up on nude mesh defaults (I'm using this one on the photo)
I'm still not sure wheter to share them or not. Also i know no one who would find them as useful as they are for me lol
I'm sharing the elder skin in case someone wanted to test it out in their game (i haven't had problems so far in my own, but i'm still not 100% confident) I'm probably not going to touch them again as i was only making them for myself.

Biggest issue so far is that if you do not have any default skin, it'll look weird due to maxis elder skins being less saturated than adult skins (this also applies if your default also desaturates elders), they should be able to pick up any adult naked mesh and skin defaults you have in your mod folder.

Guess who spent 2 evenings trying to recover a corrupted lot from a backup (It worked)
I have no one to tell this so uh, not only am i getting top surgery, they moved the date to 3rd so i am getting it sooner than i expected. I can barely contain the exitement to the point that I made a whole ass mastectomy pillow in two evenings (it's so pretty, i should take photos of it).
A while ago i merged both top surgery overlay boxes (and added an option to remove all overlays at once instead of having to choose only one to remove), but I hated how laggy it was and never shared it. I'll try to poke at it again until it works to celebrate.
Right before starting the game i remembered i needed to do a quick fix (sim randomly lost all their makeup), and SimPe decided to crash while saving and corrupt my neighborhood... Crying
Gladly i lost only 2 play sessions, but a LOT happened so i'll have a hard time recreating all of it :'(
At least i still have the screenshots :')
Gave some of my sims baby face templates and i love the results :')))))
