Journal Entry

She asks me, “What do you want out of life?” because certainly all that I had been through had not satisfied me. She calls me a “Trouble Maker”, A “Breaker of Hearts.” And a “Wanderer” but I’m sure she sees beyond all that. What she’s really asking me I guess is… 

“Why are you making yourself lonely when you have me here.”

I guess the truth is, I don’t know anything at all about the end goal if there ever was one. I have no aspirations of marriage, children, power or fame but for all the things I don’t know… I know… When she is with me…

The world is calm and quiet. All sins are forgiven and dreams become tangible again.

I could never tell her these things. She knows this too. And still… It’s okay not to seek more. So I answer with a bit of nonchalance…

“You’re the type of girl that doesn’t need a protector. So I guess this is more for me than for you.”

What I really said though was… ‘You don’t need me but you want me… And I like that but it’s terrifying out of my past experiences.’
