I feel disengenuous in my own head

Anxiety is great. So while I know I have to be awake in five hours, and I’m completely exhausted, I won’t let myself fall asleep because there’s something in my head that won’t shut up. Imagine loving someone so much that it scares you. Imagine that you love them so much you’re afraid to fall asleep because you feel like you need to protect them. Imagine that every time you close your eyes, your mind tells you everything that can go wrong while you might be sleeping, so your eyes spring open and you just stare at the wall. That’s what being a parent with anxiety is like.
