Yes, of Course I'm Fine
Yes, yes. Of course I’m fine The days go by, and I’m getting my work done Things are going as planed and I actually bought that plant I told you about You know which one, that basil I called her Clarissa. She is most likely dead as we speak but she kept me good company over the weekend. I heard you were out, enjoying a crush. Or maybe two I imagined you dance and smile and being radiant as you are and I was happy
No, yes, I’m fine I even finished that book I bought for your birthday It spoke about some menial matter, like the ones I am always preoccupied with It had a beautiful ending Don’t ask me what it was because I forgot I just have the feeling it was beautiful And meaningful
Please stop asking. I’m fine! It’s just that, I’m a little sad You see, you are starting to become trivial to me. Just like the rest No, I know it’s entirely my fault but you see You’re becoming trivial Like all the rest

actuallygrimes : This is what we drink on stage because otherwise we musicians just end up advertising for bottled water without even thinking about it. If u can, remember to bring reusable water bottles to the show like this one so u don’t have to buy water! 😛 better for the earth, and ur bank account – and takes power away from companies like nestle who are attempting to privatize water. They don’t believe water is a human right. Tap water in the USA is safe to drink 💖💖

Majical Cloudz | A Take Away Show (by LaBlogotheque)
it makes me really happy when my friends are my favourite musicians -
both these songs mean a lot to me. Neil is one of my best friends and theres something particularly resonant about hearing a love song about someone you love.
the second song is really hard for me to listen too. one time, one of the first majical cloudz shows was happening at this space my friends ran in montreal. I was in the bathroom and devon started performing that song and i burst into tears on this dirty toilet at like, 4 am at this crowded, hazy party.
there was no toilet paper, and i laughed because it was so absurd to be so emotional in such an undignified situation.
i dunno. Devon and matt (and neil too haha) are some of the only friends from that time that I still see in any regular capacity. the amount of love i have in my heart for these people is not something i can express in words. but in any case, it would mean a lot to me if you watched this. I think you will find it to be a rewarding experience.

Velázquez’s ‘House of Martha’ and its Flemish connection
Joachim Beuckelaer :

2. The Well-Stocked Kitchen, with Jesus in the House of Martha and Mary in the Background (1566). Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
3. The Four Elements: Fire. A Kitchen Scene with Christ in the House of Martha and Mary in the Background (1570). The National Gallery, London.
4. Christ in the House of Martha and Mary (1565). Museo del Prado, Madrid.
Diego Velázquez :
5. Christ in the House of Martha and Mary (c. 1618). The National Gallery, London.
[On Velázquez’s painting] “The composition shows the influence of Flemish art from the previous century when Pieter Aertsen, followed by his nephew Joachim Beuckelaer, developed a type of large painting which combines a small New Testament scene in the background with a contemporary kitchen scene with sumptuous still life painting of foodstuffs. Several examples use Christ, Martha and Mary as the background scene. (…) It is very likely that Velázquez had seen engravings of these or similar works.”
