2/3 of the Denpa Big Three down, Tsui no Sora saved for last obviously but I'm not sure if Jisatsu 101 or SayoOshi was more "what the fuck did I just read"

On the one hand Jisatsu 101 is literally unfinished so yeah I am very much wondering what the fuck I read, what the fuck was that even supposed to be about? It's just a bunch of scenes strung together with fraying thread on a mostly black background. Kanna and Samomo were really good characters though, they deserved to be in a work that was actually finished.

On the other hand SayoOshi is much more of a traditional "what the fuck did I just read" in the sense that the reveal - which I had partially spoiled for me, screw you guy on reddit who didn't censor that - re-contextualizes all of what MC has been doing and it is NOT flattering. Do I even want to know how much of that was real? Do we want it to be real? The Mahiru scenes in particular?? Good lord.

Still very interesting that all three of these authors refute the idea that these works are 'denpa'. Of course, denpa as a genre wasn't even a thing back then. It's still barely a thing now, no one can agree on what the definition even is, it's completely vibes based. Westerners sure have a funny way of reclaiming derogatory terms for Japanese subcultures or phenomena - otaku, fujin, chuunibyou, denpa...it's not necessarily a good or bad thing. It's just interesting.
