He looked at him and he chuckled softly. “You’re kidding me right? Have you not heard that smoking weed is not bad for your body. There’s a reason that they have it for medical reasons as well.”

there was a slight eye roll, turning to look at the boy. he wasn’t that bothered, he was known to turn to the drug himself when his thoughts got a bit too loud. the defensive tone though, made him want to push the boy’s buttons. 

"pretty defensive about a drug there?? there is still studies that show negative side effects and it is still illegal in this state.”

It was true, Reed didn’t stay the first time and this man was looking for a relationship. Reed didn’t want a relationship with him to be exact. He wanted a relationship with someone else, but the name escaped his head. He wouldn’t dare think of them now and he let Maddox pull him closer as he let his hands slip underneath the man’s shirt, a small smile on his lips. “I don’t care. Anywhere but here.” He muttered against the man’s lips before he let his own lips trail down Maddox’s neck.

there had been a point in his time where reed had been a get away for him, a step away from the madness his life was. he couldn’t help but think that reed currently needed the same thing, who was he to deny him that? even if there was a part of him that could be woken up in this, the part that had been crushed the day he woke up alone. 

“my place? think you can handle the fifteen minute drive?”

“B- b- b- but I- I-…” Gavin’s voice trailed off as he finished off his coffee as well and already found himself following after Maddox towards the bathroom. One of those single person bathrooms to be exact and he suddenly found himself in a small confined space with a very attractive man as the door shut behind him. Gavin stared at him, his eyes widen not really sure what exactly to say in all honesty. Gavin would have never found himself being trapped in a room with an attractive man like Maddox in a million years. “I- I- I- I ca- can just get a sh- sh- shirt from the z- z- z- zoo later.” He said awkwardly as he felt himself nervously shifting on his feet, always a bad habit of his. There was a part of him that told him to run and get out of there while he still can but Gavin was also intrigued on seeing the man shirtless, whether he wanted to admit it or not. “I- I- I- uhm– R… Really it’s fine.” He couldn’t seem to stop stuttering and the anxiety was building in his chest. He couldn’t tell if it was probably because of the coffee he just finished chugging, or if it was because of the attractive man in front of him., or if it was a mixture of both.

maddox didn’t give him much of a choice in the matter, although it may not be the best first conversation with a cute boy. he was hardly going to complain about the enclosed space they were now in as he shushed him, unzipping his leather jacket and shurgging it off his shoulders. 

“that shirt smells awful. if you were going to change at the zoo, you should have done it already” 

he mentally kicked himself as he realised how harsh those words sounded. shaking his head slightly as he forced a soft smile at him. reaching up to grab the neck of his shirt and pull it over his head in one swift movement. 

“i don’t mind, honestly. my work is close enough to have a new one within like, ten minutes. i’ll just zip my jacket up. it’s not fair that a cute boy like you is having a clearly bad day, if you get to walk back smelling slightly better i should help you out, right??”

Astrid’s looked up from her phone while she waited for her food to arrive. She studied him, completely amused by his ticks. “No, it’s not bothering me. I’m just wondering whether you’re impatient, nervous for a meeting with an important person, or an addict who didn’t have his daily dose of alcohol, smoke, or coffee this morning,” Astrid chuckled.

he looked over her, rather deliberately moving his hand to rest on his thigh so when the tapping inevitably began again it wouldn’t echo throughout the room in quite the same way.

“none of the above actually, although it has been a bit too long since i’ve had a smoke.”

A cheeky grin spread across Kat’s face, “Hmm… maybe.” The woman paused for a moment before continuing, “Nah just kidding, it’ll be good.” Watching him change, she had an expectant look on her face.

maddox looked clearly unimpressed as he obediently put the shirt on, keeping his eyes on her as he did.

“there, does it look okay??”

“Wait a second-”, stepping back, she shook her head, kind of lost again in the conversation. “Are you offering your number to a girl you met in the psychiatric area of the hospital? You’re brave”, a attempt of smile runs in her face, with not much success. 

a little laugh followed her question, an amused shake of his head as he straightened his posture slightly 

“brave is definitely a trait that could describe me, but not for this. you’re ashamed about being here? or that’s the vibe you’re giving off. a more casual interaction where you still get things off your chest, could help?”

Being a perfectionist had it’s good and bad sides, just like everything did. To try to achieve the best was not considered a crime by most, but not many knew the road to achieving such perfection. A road of pure struggle, where any moment of lack of motivation or the smallest distraction could proof to lead to failure. At least, that’s the way Lucia experienced it. Of course, others seemed to be completely unaware of such thing. Minding their business quite… loudly. IT must have been written on her face, the focus and mild frustration as she tried to shut it all out, because a voice rang in her ears. Dark chocolate eyes flashed up to meet with the man sitting across from her. Her lips pressed together in a fine line for a brief moment as she tried to find words. “Only slightly.” she lied not so confidently. 

the desire to move, the need to be seconds away from leaping into action was something that settled in the bones.of the man.it felt like electricity, buzzing underneath his skin and boiling his blood, inducing the need to move, the need to be on high alert at all times. it wouldn’t be the first time he’d irritated people with the habit, round the workplace it was a common enough thing to cause outbursts of ‘maddox, shut the fuck up’, usually followed by a hint of guilt, a pinch of sympathy thrown his way too. 

“it’s a habit that’s hard to break, if i start again, feel free to throw something at me.”

    ivy rose had been watching the male as it seemed like he was not relaxed at all. actually he seemed rather restless and –– or nervous. it was a different kind of restless she was used to though;; she knew the difference. the once around her home was restless because of the lack or –– too much of things a human body should not have. ivy had grown up around it and knew how it looked on people by now. “ ––– no it’s okay;; you are not”

the protest was honest suprisingly, maybe not from someone else’s prospective but maddox was okay right now, as okay as he could be. he still felt empty and usueless here, sat in new york as the world got crazier but it was all that was left for him to do.

Gavin had let his gaze drift to the phone in his hands at this point. Not daring to make conversation with Maddox for that he could already feel himself choke up as he spoke. It had been months and they haven’t had a decent conversation where he hasn’t messed up on every single word he was saying. Trying to reach for his coffee first he felt his hand brush against the other man’s hand and he felt his entire body tense at the gentle feel and Gavin quickly pulled his hand away. “I- uhm. Uh–” He said, probably sounding like an idiot as his gaze met Maddox’s and he gently took the table and wrapped his hands tightly around the warm drink almost to the point that it was bubbling on the top of the cap. “Thank you.” He said quietly as he looked away from the other man. A shiver went through his spine at the man’s offer and he nervously sipped at his coffee. “Uhm– d- d- don’t y- you need your shirt th- th- though?” He asked his eyes widening slightly at the thought of having his shirt. “H- h- h- how w- w- would I give it back to you?” He asked as he took a nervous sip of the coffee once more to try and hide his shaky breath. 

maddox paused, that was not something he’d thought of when his offer had been made. he had spare shirts at his office of course, he could grab one of them. that left the problem of getting back to work shirtless and, there was no way that would go down well. there wasa moment of releif as the second coffee was put down, a maddox could use the excuse of taking a large sip to explain the uncomfortable silence they were currently in. 

“well, i can just, zip up my jacket, can’t i?” 

he finally decided, parting his lips from the disposable cup for just a moment to speak..taking a nother sip of the burning hot coffee once he’d finished.it hadnt been the game plan, it was much better than admitting to the fact he’d been coming here for five months just to get a glimpse of him every day though. 

 “come on, let’s go”

without another word on the matter, maddox was nodding towards the bathroom, heading in the genera direction. he was aware how sleazy it looked, two guys entering the bathroom togethe, probably going to be in there a good few minutes before exiting together but maddox couldn’t bring himself to care.

Effie sat at the counter, tapping her own foot as it hung crossed over her other leg. Her head was supported by her hand, leaning over. All she had ordered was coffee and toast, but the waitress had gone and disappeared into the back just a moment after the order was placed and was nowhere to be seen. An argrevatted sigh escaped from her before she moved her body to cross her arms over her chest. She hadn’t intended to catch the gaze of the man on the other side, so she was confused for a moment until she realized that he was the guy making all the background noise. Pausing for a moment, she decided to be a little shit, probably due to the lack of coffee she was experiencing. 

“Yeah, buddy, you are. If I wanted to hear counter tapping, I would have gone to see “Stomp!” not come into a diner.”

the response he received was not unexpected, not entirely anyway. it did make him regret the fact he’d stopped though. he didn’t see the point in considering her feelings if her response to lash out on him,  this led to him very deliberately cracking his knuckles, starting to tap his pointer finger against the table even quicker than he had been doing a moment ago. 

“oh, i’m really sorry about that darling,”

Reed didn’t know what was going through his mind anymore. This was the guy that he had slept with years ago and he’d never imagine doing this to him anytime soon but Reed didn’t care and he pulled Maddox closer to him, his fingers playing with the collar of the other mans shirt. “I don’t care, just take me away from here.” He said nipping at the other’s skin by his jawline. The taste of alcohol was on his breath and people were starting to stare at them and the strobe lights shined in between them as Reed closed the space between their lips 

part of maddox was screaming to stop this madness, turn around and walk away because he knew reed would not be there in the morning no matter what happened next. a much more dominant part of him craved reed though, and the touches he was getting were intoxicating. that was the part calling the shots tonight, pulling reed’s body tight against his own, unconcerned with the mass of sweaty bodies surrounding them.

“and where, am i expectred to take you?”

he raised both brows in surprise; he wasn’t certain what it was he had been thinking about, or perhaps daydreaming about, but it had apparently been enough to keep him unaware of his surroundings for ten minutes. as a result, he had not noticed the other’s presence at all - let alone any behaviour that could be considered annoying. 

“oh, no! not at all. i was – uh, daydreaming. are you okay?”

maddox let out a sigh of relief, it was never his intention to irritate anyone after all and finding out he wasn’t felt like a weight off his shoulders. that made him curious though, about what the man had been thinking about. 

“what were you day dreaming about?? if i can ask !! i’m fine yeah, just a habit”

“Good for you”, that was the kindest thing she could reply to him. Honestly, it was kind of hurting to see so many people dealing well with this situation, as she felt as lost and alone as the when this started. Ashamed didn’t even started to cover what she felt towards herself. “Thank you. And huh, good luck?”

he took a deep breath as he began to respond, a soft sigh shaking through his body. as he tried to think how to approach the topic.  

“if you ever need some, less professional help !! someone who you can talk to without them trying to diagnose you ! you can call me ??”

Already rummaging through the man’s closet, she was searching high and low for something acceptable. It didn’t take her long to find what she was looking for, and with a victorious smile, she swiveled around and presented him with her find. “This one.” She declared triumphantly. “It goes with your eyes.”

he fell back on the bed, unconcerned with the fact he was lay shirtless as he waited for the woman to find an outfit she deemed acceptable. he turned his head to the side to focus on her as she spoke, looking at the shirt she was now holding. with a groan, he easily pulled himself back up, reaching out for it. 

“and you wont make me change again??”

the question seemed to bring out a look of disgust on maddox’s features, an eyebrow quirked upwards as he shook his head, line of sight falling to his neatly trimmed nails as he picked at them. 

“not on drugs, definetely not.”

Serenity was rare in Dina’s life. There was the chaos of the patisserie and the chaos at home. Therefore on her rare days off she rather enjoyed doing absolutely nothing. One of her favorite haunts, was a local coffee shop where she could sit and enjoy a hot cup of coffee and just people watch in silence. However today that silent seemed to be broken by the repetitive tapping of stranger’s long fingers. Dina shrugged.

‘ Not really, although I am curious. Are you waiting for someone? Is that why you’re so jumpy? ‘

even if he wasn’t exactly bothering the woman, he still forced his muscles to remain still. he sunk his teeth into the soft skin of his bottom lip at the question. how could maddox ever begin to describe his inability to sit still now, the things he seemed that seemed to play on loop in his head unless his firsts were laying into something or a his palm rested securely against the handle of a gun. no, explaining why would never be an option. 

“no, not waiting for someone, just, too much caffiene, makes me a bit jittery”

alright i’ll do more tomorrow because staring at my laptop is hurting my head, but if you want to plot im me and hopefully tumblr will let me respond because it’s been a dick and super selective with who it'd let me message all night.
