melsanders:
The hustle and bustle of the city was something that Mel loved, she lived in a small studio in Brooklyn that her father graciously is paying for until she snags a job at Vogue…being an assistant doesn’t exactly pay the rent in New York. She loved the big buildings and the fast pace, it made her so happy to have this opportunity and Astrid was like an angel in disguise to her. Walking inside, she met so many people, memorizing their faces and names because you never know when some of these people could help her out in the long run. Bright eyes scanned the items in front of her, if it was possible they’d turn into hearts because she was obsessed with these designs, “They’re breath taking…wow, I can’t believe you get to do this every day!”
“Of course. I have to; it’s part of the job,” she pretended to sound like it was exhausting, before she chuckled. “Let’s see here. What do you say is your expertise? Fashion trivia or pulling me some great pieces, and a showstopping one for this gala I’m attending in two nights?” Astrid asked her, leafing through some dresses.
liam-kane:
“What? No, no, I didn’t do the prank calling, someone prank called my mom’s shop. I’m not a punk ass kid like that.” Liam ran a hand through his short blonde hair. “The lilacs might make the hydrangeas too busy depending on the color.” He let out a long sigh. “I would prefer selling all of them, but beggars can’t be choosers. They’re all in my car right now if you’re genuinely interested.”
“Ah. Well you didn’t tell me the complete story, so I’m sorry I assumed so quickly,” Astrid raised her hand in ‘defeat’. “Well, my office is actually black and white so the only thing that gives it a colour are my flowers,” the editor-in-chief pointed out. “Why don’t you come over to my office? Maybe some of my interns would love some lilacs,” she shrugged.
melsanders:
Her mother had passed away when she was twelve, meaning Melody had to work harder to make sure her dreams came true, the woman had raised her with the intentions of chasing her dreams…she couldn’t let her mother down. Astrid reminded her a lot of her mom, younger of course, but she believed in Melody and it was comforting to have a woman like that in her life. “I swear someone better pinch me soon!!” The small blonde squeaked out, grinning from ear to ear as her wedge clad feet scurried behind the woman to her car.
Considering New York’s traffic, they arrived at the studio pretty quickly. Astrid was greeted by everyone as they walked in, and she immediately introduced Melody to them as well. Even walking into the studio with endless rows of couture displayed just for her still felt like heaven; she could only imagine what Melody must be feeling. She placed her things down and started going over the first rack, immediately choosing Elie Saab because she was at the show and Elie Saab sent her a dress but of course, Astrid wanted more of it. “Oh these are exquisite,” she sighed. “What do you think?”
leia-kane:
“You know what isn’t funny? Prank calling a flower shop. Ordering three dozen lilacs is fine, but when I show up to a pizza shop with the poor delivery boy in near tears because I demand he take them? Not so fun. These flowers are going to waste. I already called the local cemetery, and they didn’t want them.” Leia rested her palm against her forehead. “Do you have any suggestions for me?”
“Why did you even prank call a flower shop in the first place?” Astrid asked, her eyebrow raised. “I might be able to help you out because lilacs would actually go along very well with the hydrangeas, but I doubt that I might need three dozens; maybe just one,” she told her, actually considering on changing up the flower arrangements in her office.
melsanders:
“I know, I know, I’m just so happy. Honestly, thank you…” Melody didn’t know if she could count the amount of times she’d thanked Astrid, but she meant it every time. Hearing the woman lay out all the amazing things that were happening for her, she couldn’t help but beam a smile, it was all so surreal to her how her dreams were becoming reality. “Wait, really? No, I’ll totally join you, I wouldn’t miss it!” The girl was in shock, this had to be some sort of dream, but she didn’t want to wake up.
Astrid smiled; she loved making people’s dreams come true; although she was careful not to overuse it. She was someone who was in Melody’s shoes before, and she managed to climb her way to the top to be able to be where she was with the generous grace of Anna Wintour and several others who took a chance on her. She wanted to do the same for other people. “Alright, come on. We’re have a packed schedule; some from New York and even the ones from Paris and Milan are flying in,” Astrid beckoned as she walked over to her car.
Astrid Gainsbourg on her way to Vogue Headquarters.
melsanders:
It was a blessing to be working for her, the woman had taken a chance on a fresh faced and young girl with big dreams and ZERO experience to be her assistant. She couldn’t let her down because of her clumsy little mistake, so here she was scrambling around on the sidewalks of the big city. Hearing a voice, Melody glanced up to see her very boss before her, paper in hand, “I’m so sorry, I was just—day dreaming, guess? This is like my biggest dream ever, you have no idea.” Seeing her peek at the paper, Melody giggled, reaching out to take it from her, “No peeking!! It’s not nearly ready yet.”
“Well don’t daydream too much; you still have a lot of things to do,” Astrid pointed out, letting the girl have the paper back. “Let me tell you this: you’re in Vogue, your dreams are going to start coming true one by one, so you have to get used to it,” she smiled. “Speaking of work, I’m off to see some collections, do you want to come or should I leave you with your daydreaming and take Elle instead?”
kittyy-cait:
The man was very insistent on asking her all sorts of questions that she didn’t want to answer to anyone right now. She about ready to deck him when someone else walked in between them. She recognized her from the cabins, and at first thought she was going to join in on the questions too. But, she actually got the guy to leave quick. “Thank you, for that. And I’m just trying to get to work without people bombarding me.”
Astrid smiled at the girl sincerely, “Oh don’t worry about it,” she said. “Where’s work? I can give you a ride if you want; my car’s coming around the block,” she offered.
kittyy-cait:
The news had been blasting it every since she got back. She was sick of hearing about it and she was sick of people asking her about WHAT HAPPENED to her. Maybe that’s why she couldn’t help but snap at the next person. “Yes, I’m the girl who went missing. And no I don’t want to talk about it. It’s my fault. End of story.” she said. She pulled the hood farther over her head, to cover her face full of bruises and scratches.
Astrid was at the cabin the day it happened and she did help look for Cait. She had came to know what the girl looked like, but she didn’t feel like she had the right to talk to her considering she didn’t really know who Cait was; aside from her attempt to find the missing girl, she didn’t help much. “Don’t you have anything better to do? Get laid for once in your miserable life, maybe?” She asked the man whose smug and insensitive expression was immediately drained from her face as he walked away. Astrid glanced at Cait, “Can I help you get anywhere?”
melsanders:
She’d been zoned out, her boss told her she could finally take over an article on spring colors for Vogue’s next article, it was like she was in heaven!! Sure it was a small segment, almost non existent, but it meant she’d have her credits in one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world. It was a lot to take in, but she was quickly snapped out of her thoughts when someone ran smack into her. Dropping all of her journals, she gasped, “Oh no, no, no!” She panicked, beginning to scramble to get all of her things before anyone stepped on them or they were blown away.
Astrid had just came home from Paris Fashion Week, and she just had to have lunch with some of her designer friends to hunt for the best wardrobe for Vogue and of course, for herself. She had people to do that for her, but Astrid just loves hunting down clothes that she might do some herself before she lets her people do the rest. She was stepping out just as her car pulled over when she saw some papers blown her way and watched as a blonde scrambled to pick up those papers, immediately recognising the blonde as her own assistant. “Really now; I give you a piece to write and you forget how to walk? How are you going to even write? And you’re supposed to give submit these to me, not scramble them all over New York City,” Astrid joked slightly, picking up a piece to read as a sneak peek.
malachaiatwood:
Some drunk man knocked on my door at three in the morning and left his dog outside my door. Who wants a new pet? He seems sort of friendly.
“Is it a puppy? Because I’m actually looking to adopt, but I want to raise a puppy from a young age,” Astrid said, interested.
maddoxhall:
he looked over her, rather deliberately moving his hand to rest on his thigh so when the tapping inevitably began again it wouldn’t echo throughout the room in quite the same way.
“none of the above actually, although it has been a bit too long since i’ve had a smoke.”
“Ah,” she nodded. “Well, I’m curious then, what is it?” Astrid asked, amused. “So you do really need to smoke?”
lukaferreira:
“Caitriona!” The name rips out of him with a strength he didn’t know he could muster in below freezing temperatures. Luka’s throat was rubbed raw, his lips chapped, bleeding, and developing a blue tint from the time he’s spent in the cold. He wasn’t sure how long he’d been outside anymore - time had come to a halt the moment he’d heard that Cait was missing. But he didn’t feel the cold. His white hot rage wrapped tightly around him, warmer than any fire.
He moved deeper into the wilderness that surrounded the resort, guided by a kind of anguish he hadn’t felt since his brother had died: the feeling when you’re about to lose someone that you care about. He felt someone grab his shoulder and he winced, turning his flashlight on them. Even in its dim light, the determination in his eyes was obvious. “If you’re not here to help me, then fuck off.”
Astrid didn’t even know why she came to the cabin the first place; she just thought she needed a break and a time off maybe enjoy a few days in the snow—-not that New York is not cold enough. One minute Astrid was on a phone call, and the next she was searching for a missing girl. To be honest, she had better things to do but she wasn’t going to be an insensitive person and stay in. The blonde picked up her flashlight and joined the search party until she saw a figure ahead of her—-she didn’t know anyone here, and hence she was not quite comprehending that it was not the missing girl.
“Hey. Everyone here is searching for that girl; I don’t know her personally, but I’m not insensitive. From the looks of it, you’re going to need my help but if you’re going to be an ass, then good luck,” Astrid snapped, utterly disturbed by the way he was quick to judge and told her off like that. Maybe it’s just her not used to being disrespected, but she knew for sure that people just don’t tell other people to fuck off that way.
maddoxhall:
if there was one thing that was true, it was the fact maddox hall could never relax; long fingers drumming out a fast paced beat on the counter top, leg bouncing up and down. it was probably frustrating for some, yet it was was needed to calm the nerves standing on edge, that were ever present within his body. his gaze locked on someone sitting across from him. his immediate reaction being to force his body to fall still for once.
“Sorry, am i bothering you?
Astrid’s looked up from her phone while she waited for her food to arrive. She studied him, completely amused by his ticks. “No, it’s not bothering me. I’m just wondering whether you’re impatient, nervous for a meeting with an important person, or an addict who didn’t have his daily dose of alcohol, smoke, or coffee this morning,” Astrid chuckled.
jeremy-monroe:
Raising a toddler as a single father in a massive city definitely had its hardships. Jeremy couldn’t look away for barely a moment before Lily was already latching onto someone’s leg.
Immediately Jeremy’s cheeks flush red, bending down to pick up his daughter who is insistent on remaining locked to the other’s leg, “Lily!” Before looking at the other with sympathy, “Sorry…I guess the Princess likes you.” He says as he presses a kiss on his daughter’s head before picking her up and resting her upon his hip.
Astrid was on a phone call after lunch, about to walk back to her office that is just around the corner. She had just ended the phone call when she felt a sudden weight on her feet, causing her to yelp just a little bit thinking that it was some stray animal trying to claw on her. Turns out it was just a little girl. “Hey,” the blonde chuckled, placing her hand on the girl’s head to gently caress her hair. “What are you doing?” Astrid asked. That was when she heard the man call out for the girl. “It’s alright. It’s actually quite flattering that she does,” she smiled gently when he picked his daughter up.
