I’d rather have a good ending than more seasons
Very much related: I’d rather have a good ending than a sequel.
Sacheen Littlefeather has passed away on October 2nd 2022. While people remember her for her acceptance speech on behalf of Marlon Brando, know that she also ended the media blackout of the Wounded Knee occupation, won an Emmy & co-founded the American Indian AIDS Institute of San Francisco.

My handwriting is the same style as the teacher’s who I had when I was nine. I’m now twenty one and he’s been dead eight years but my i’s still curve the same way as his.
I watched the last season of a TV show recently but I started it with my friend in high school. We haven’t spoken in four years.

I curl my hair the way my best friend showed me.
I learned to love books because my father loved them first.
How terrifying, how excruciatingly painful to acknowledge this. That I am a jigsaw puzzle of everyone I have briefly known and loved. I carry them on with me even if I don’t know it. How beautiful.

Jupiter will be some 367 million miles from Earth on Monday, the closest it's been since 1963. It coincides with Jupiter being on the opposi
If you’re in a place where it’s dark and not cloudy, step outside and take a look at Jupiter! We could see the planet and two moons with binoculars, and when we pulled out the telescope we could see Jupiter’s stripes and four moons!
Also, NASA just crashed a big ol’ hunk of metal into an asteroid on purpose for the first time ever, which is cool as hell.
don’t be scared to live lovingly. compliment your friends on the little things and cheer for live bands in small cafes and leave tips when you can. tell the person you saw that you really like their shirt and write cards and letters to the people you love. make playlists for people and don’t be afraid to express your appreciation for others. life is so much better when you live it with love.

If we’ve been mutuals for more than two years you can claim me on your taxes as a dependent. If more than three you can use me as a reference in any context. If our mutualtrality has exceeded four years, you can summon once a day to your location to aid in a fight for 30 minutes.

I am super against light pollution, and have been for decades
but I am also super annoyed by the way it's framed as "without light pollution you can see how beautiful the night sky is" way more prominently than it's framed as "hey, did you ever stop to think of how much energy/resources/money are literally wasted by having so much light shine up into the sky?"
so people get the idea that light pollution can only be remedied by eliminating all night-time light, which would make being outside at night very inconvenient, instead of by making night-time light shine only on the ground where, y'know, the people who need it are
The mildest example of what OP's talking about in Dunedin, Aotearoa:
This is just with the streetlamp equivalent of using lampshades. Imagine what truly directional city lights could achieve?
Reblogging this again cause light pollution actually have negative health affects on humans and wildlife. We weren't meant to live in a world constantly bathed in light.
What’s your typical day like?
i wake up. i malfunction. i call it a day
how is everyone not wailing and shouting in the streets everytime a new james webb telescope image comes out how are people not immediately rent asunder by the terrifying beauty of space with every new release
