Imagine you kiss your "platonic" girlbestfriend on the mouth then watch her get married to your tall man big eye crush because you told them to and then your friend you met not even six months ago goes
😌"... you remind me so much of your father... Osama Bin Laden."
as much as i’m hoping that the dream thieves keeps more explicit context it would be so funny to go from trb gn, literally PG to its detriment, to a sequel with slurs, drugs, dick pics, general horniness, like the 180 would be so iconic
no. 2 of podcast characters dressing up for halloween
CHAPTIGONE!!!! They're dressed as frankenstein's monster and his bride and they (mostly antigone) look incredible doing it. Funnily enough this is my first chaptigone drawing
some royal jewels were stolen from the louvre which is unfortunate for historical reasons but you gotta appreciate a classic crime. so many crimes are online these days it’s nice to see heist culture is still alive
We are excited to open up submissions for our first issue! We are seeking creative works centered around the first season of the audio drama Wooden Overcoats, as well as the character of Rudyard Funn across the entire series (future issues will continue to align with the narrative trajectory of the show, so our next issue will be about the second season and Antigone!). You will be able to find our zine online for free in the Spring.
Please be sure to read through our submission guidelines before sending your work our way, we are looking forward to reviewing it! Submission guidelines below.
What about copyright? Are zines legal?
We have corresponded with and obtained enthusiastic permission from Wooden Overcoats Ltd. for our unofficial fanproject. Our project is not affiliated with the Wooden Overcoats team. We cannot accept submissions that use the show’s official logo or art in any way.
I can’t draw or write but still want to be involved!
We are open to more than 2D art and fiction–nonfiction writing, puzzles, poetry, collage, playlist making, 3D media, etc. If you were an early days listener, we’d also love to hear your recollections.
How long should written works be?
Please keep written works under 3,000 words.
Can I submit work previously posted on a platform like Ao3/Tumblr/Twitter?
Please only send us previously unseen works. Once the zine is uploaded, feel free to repost your work as you like.
How many works may I submit?
There is no limit on submissions, but note this is a volunteer-run endeavor. Please only submit what you feel is your strongest, most original work. If you are planning to send in separate works that are meant to be looked at together (related prose works or a series of artworks, for example), just let us know in the notes!
Does my fanwork’s depictions of the characters need to align with the show art?
No, we are open to all interpretations of the characters.
Wooden Overcoats can be rather raunchy–can I submit something raunchy?
Regarding NSFW content, we are only seeking work that matches the show’s raunchiness (largely SFW with some innuendo sprinkled in). Critical and analytical looks at the show’s themes of eroticism, desire, and sexuality are also welcomed.
I have a great crossover idea for a story about Wooden Overcoats and my favorite French New Wave film…
We are not accepting transformative works that explicitly crossover with other media. A story about the denizens of Piffling Vale meeting Nightvale wouldn’t be a good fit for our project.
However, if you are interested in alluding to or referencing another work you feel compliments Wooden Overcoats, we’d be interested in that. So, an allusion to a painting or a parody of a recognizable French New Wave Poster would be something we’re interested in and would broadly fall under fair use practices.
Is this a “shipping” thing?
We are accepting fanwork regarding character pairings that align with canon content.
However, looks at shipping and fandom experience are welcomed, regardless of canonicity.
My favorite character is Tanya and I’m just interested in submitting something about Tanya. Is that too niche?
We are celebrating all aspects of the show, no matter how minor a character or how throwaway a joke.
Will my work be edited if accepted?
We will only edit for grammar, clarity, and punctuation. We will not edit for style.
Will I be compensated?
No, we are unable to offer any compensation. However, all artists and writers will receive a handbound copy of the issue.
Any work created with GenerativeAI will be rejected.
If this all sounds good to you, we invite you to submit your work here!
If you have any questions or issues with the submission form, please do not hesitate to email the Fandalliances address ([email protected]) or Alina ([email protected]). We will find a solution.
