Born in the South West of England, Madeline Hitchens grew up with the best of both worlds. Being home schooled by her mother, Maddie learnt about her muggle heritage whilst also learning about the wonders of the magical world. She was an energetic child, playing in the countryside with her two older brothers, who would get themselves into trouble on a regular basis. It was a fun and carefree childhood.Â
When her brothersâ eventually left for Hogwarts, Maddieâs life grew a little more quiet. All she could focus on was her studies in preparation for Hogwarts and just generally learning about the world around her. Her and her mother would go on little trips to learn about the history of Britain and things about science and magic. Maddie had a lot on opportunities as a child which she doesnât take for granted; she knows that having a life mixed with magic and muggle has opened her eyes for the better.
When the time arrived for her to leave for Hogwarts, Madeline was both excited and nervous for what was install. She walked up to the Sorting Hat with a wide, nervous smile but was thrilled upon hearing HUFFLEPUFF be roared out. Being a Hufflepuff was a status Maddie wore proudly on her chest but she wasnât expecting the attitudes of otherâs in relation to her House or how she was brought up. Though her parents had spoken about the prejudices some wizards had, it was still a shock to Maddie to see and hear some of the things they would say and do.Â
Making friends was fairly easy for Madeline mainly because she rarely spoke about herself. She liked to listen and help her friends, deciding to be a people pleaser than someone how would argue until her face went blue. As she grew older, though, she grew more and more out of her shell and was less reserved than before.
Now, it was time to leave Hogwarts, a place she had called home for seven years. NEWTs took over her life, leaving Madeline little time to herself or her friends. Thankfully, the hard work payed off. Maddie was worried about what the future might entail but was also interested in finding out what the next step in her life would be. She managed to bag herself a job in the Ministry of Magic and, even though it wasnât something she thought of doing at first, Madeline was exciting for the opportunities it would offer her.
