Claire already had her "list" of wanted kids names, and Luis gently adds his own flair and culture.
Sophie became Sophia, and Oliver became Oliverio.
Never shorten Oliverio to Oliver because of laziness. That is not his name, nor is it a nickname.
Claire sometimes calls Sophia as "Fifi" and Oliverio as "Oli" or a garbled "lolliolilololi" because Oli loves his lollies and he is in fact a tongue twister. The children can greenlight any nicknames but in general they are known by their first names with those little sprinklings at home.
Having two family names can be confusing for some. Formally, Sophia is Miss. Navarro Redfield -> Dr. Navarro Redfield. However her name can be shortened to Miss. Navarro -> Dr. Navarro and still be respectful, but she is NOT Miss. Redfield -> Dr. Redfield, use both names or only shorten to Navarro.
Okay, well, speaking a lot with @arrepentirse about Claire and Luis. They're both on the run from Umbrella and staying low after causing a lot of mess within the Paris laboratory. This deviates from Claire being captured and taken to Rockfort and Luis escaping and going into hiding back in Valdelobos.
Included in the 'mess', Chris' files are wiped from all digital systems and Luis removes his alias name from every document that involves him. Possibility for both cases to bite them later on but in the immediate aftermath they seem to get away with it.
They're both eyeing a future with TerraSave, a newly forming non-government organisation that has been chasing down Claire Redfield with an invitation into their ranks after learning she is a Raccoon City survivor (named through Sherry Birkin's account of her own escape and the information trickled to a leak). Side note, nothing about this AU changes Claire's relationship with Sherry, if anything she fought harder attempting to relocate her into her home but the government already granted protective custody to Simmons who refuses to relinquish it.
Claire and Luis have the fastest "surprise!" together, she's 19 and he's 22 when she falls pregnant. The strict Catholic raised boy proposes soon after and Claire gets Santa Maria on her finger until they can afford a ring for her. She gives birth in 1999 when she's 20 and their daughter is born around October where Luis' own birthday is. Sophia Navarro Redfield comes into a chaotic new family living that broke 90s college student vibe while they're still figuring everything out. They own a lava lamp that she becomes obsessed with, watch out once she can pull herself up to grab at it. That same lamp will end up in Sophia's room one day because she loved it that much.
Dr. Luis Serra Navarro works for TerraSave in a flexible role. He is primarily a researcher, he aids in the development of drugs that help in both bioterrorism and medical crises. His job is mostly within a laboratory. However, he also will travel as on-ground support to help safely administer medications within temporary TerraSave facilities.
Claire Redfield returns to college while being a new mother. She completes her bachelor in social work (something she began studying pre-Raccoon City, relating to her own rebellious years and wishing to help others in similar boats). Then she furthers her study and completes a masters in social work, in time to welcome her second child in 2002, baby Oliverio Navarro Redfield. Anyone who tells Claire her son is a quiet boy earns a laugh โ he has a warming up phase, but he's a true non-stop yapper. Quickest way is through his goddamn stomach. Offer him a piece of candy and you got a friend for life.
Luis is extremely involved in his childrens education. He had them both signed up for private school with years long waiting lists while they were still in diapers. The reason he and Claire remain in their cheaper and somewhat outdated home as long as they do is because they both agreed to budget heavily for their childrens education, paying for private tuition while also saving towards their college funds with the hope and encouragement for their children to prioritise education. There were no massive or expensive holiday trips for them for a long time, their school holidays were largely at home or visiting relatives.
Throughout the entirety of the Resident Evil timeline, Claire is present for each 'event' as normal, however she does have a husband and children so there are additional stresses (such as during her T-Phobos infection). She is highly organised in matters of family and home, there is a regularly updated list on her fridge with names and numbers on people she and her family can rely on in a pinch. There is an astronimically high chance honorary grandparents Barry and Kathy Burton and Uncle Chris have been phoned by Sophia and Oliverio just because they wanted to talk about stuff ranging from what they learned that day to what food they really want for dinner. Not ruling out agents Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy getting such a call themselves.
When the events of Resident Evil 9 takes place, Sophia is 27 and Oliverio is 24.
Dr. Sophia Navarro Redfield works for TerraSave and she is directly involved in Wrenwood's quarantine efforts. She studied biochemistry and pursued a PhD in virology so her role is laser focused on the study of viruses (unlike her father, who has expertise with parasites). She is part of the first wave of on the ground support in Wrenwood, specifically gathering samples from infected civilians, healthy civilians and the environment around the initial outbreak to identify what they're dealing with / whether it's dormant and triggered / and liasing with other organisations with the initial knowledge it's a bioterrorism event without an identified motive.
(Soon to be Dr.) Oliverio Navarro Redfield is continuing his studies at the time, he's completing his final year as a Doctor in Medicine, and has not yet started residency. He has the eventual career goal of working with an organisation such as the BSAA to provide emergency care for individuals fighting bioterrorism but his Mamรก and Papรก are lovingly trying to argue that thought from his head. Not only because of their insider knowledge through Chris about the current state of BSAA but also because their son being so close to potential frontline [letter]-virus infections and general violent conflict is terrifying.

Claire never gets accustomed to waking up in strange places. Granted, usually she wakes in a temporary shelter or a hotel, location depending. Never knew what accommodation to expect when landing in a recent disaster zone. Though this is a twist. She wakes in a stranger place than usual. This isn't her temporary cot, and this isn't one of TerraSave's share flats.
There's one other body in the room and he gets the space all to himself. Lucky bastard. Her memory is quickly recalling the steps to this bed. She had a drink, but this had nothing to do with the alcohol. It was her own needs and she saw an opportunity โ he wasn't with TerraSave, just working a contract. At least she waits until the last week to proposition him to lessen any post-fling awkwardness.
The most upsetting fact is that she fell asleep. She must have been more exhausted than she realised. Or sleeping around with people who work security contracts is her magic cure-all for insomnia. She goes through the motions, collecting her clothes and already mapping out what work she can tackle after a few precious hours of total blackout sleep. The best kind. No memories on loop, a moment of peace.
There comes another voice and Claire is reminded she isn't alone. "Bastard." She whispers in reply, there's no bite in her tone. The lighter casts just enough of a glow to guide her to the light switch. They're equally rumpled and she shoots a crooked kind of smile. "Got any bricks of protein around here?" Muesli? Breakfast in a packet?

He can hear the slight hitch of panic when she wakes. That all too familiar jolt of shock from waking in a space that isn't your own while your sleepy mind is still gathering the fragments of memory floating inside of it.

Perhaps, to a degree, it is a cruel act to pretend to be still fast asleep. Allowing her to suffer the tedium of searching a still half-darkened room for all of her clothes. The scavenger seems to punctuate each and every sound, and when he hears the subtle noise of what he imagines might be her bumping into either the dresser or a nightstand, he rises up without a word. Reaching for something in the nightstand that's on his side of the bed.
"You can turn the light on if you want. Easier than getting dressed in the dark." He leans forward, and something in his hand clicks and sparks. A flip lighter ignites a small flame, and he turns with the cigarette he'd retrieved perched between his teeth, reaching up to push the window just above his headboard open.

She was like fire and a storm colliding into one. She always was, from what Luis had experienced from her so far. It wasโฆ fascinating. And a little intimidating at times. Claire took no prisoners. Claire took no soft and secure routes, when she had her eyes set on aย goal. Claire took what she wanted.
And at the moment, Luis was lucky that this was him.
He watched her, drank her in. His lips parted slightly at the beautiful sight of her. It was chaotic and they should notโฆ but it was also so perfect. How the setting sun made her skin glow gold and her hair fire red.

Leon had to grin at that. "It is your thing," he agreed without a beat of hesitation, reaching up to rub a thumb against Claire's cheek fondly. "My brave firefighter." He took a step back to give her room when she slid off the counter and weaved a hand through her mane of auburn hair that softly cascaded past her shoulders. He wasn't going to bother putting product in his own hair when they weren't probably weren't even going to wear clothes that day.
At most, Leon would throw on a bathrobe to answer the door then lounge around in boxer briefs. It was a no-pants kinda day.
When Claire wandered off to place their order, Leon stared in the mirror with a pensive frown. To shave or not to shave? He thought about the ride she was promised and that was enough to make him decide to lose the stubble. Shaving cream was being richly lathered along his chin and jaw when the object of his affection reappeared, peeking at him curiously and earning a chuckle as he stared at her via reflection.
Her arms encircled Leon's ribcage, her ample chest flush against his back and briefly distracting him in his task. "How's the damage to my back?" Teasing. They had maybe thirty minutes before one of them would have to answer the door so he wasn't rushing to grab a robe just yet. He wouldn't take long to shaveโthe stubble had grown in for less than a week. With warm water running from the tap, Leon wet his razor and slowly swept it against the grain from cheek to chin.
"Want your ride to be smooth," he told her, wearing a completely straight expression, catching her gaze in the mirror while he rinsed and gave the razor a tap or two against the sink bowl. They both shaved for each other with equal effort. And it just... felt better? Not to mention it made for easier clean ups. "Good thing I was gifted with this chin. Makes for a sturdy place to sit, don't you think?"
Shut up, Leon. Answering the door for the pizza guy while you had a boner would be fucking weird.
Claire smiles like an imp when Leon asks for a damage report. She doesn't even look away from the mirror as she replies. "All good back here." Complete with a playful open palm slap on the back. Her chest silently jumps with a laugh โ she's being playful, there's no real force behind the action even if there is a clap of flesh. That's her, though. Shock factor.
"Oh?" She raises an eyebrow. Her ride. Here she was thinking he was tired and hungry. It's barely even a tease or a suggestion. Yet she leans a little into it. "You're well built. Sturdy all over." Her voice drops, as does her hand from his waist. She was hugging onto him so very sweetly.
