i havent vented on a blog in a long time and i really need to put this into some form of words so im gonna info puke into this right now 

if u dont wanna read about disease or death dont read 

hghhghhhhh so like recently ive been having this great.. dread over my future and the future of my family

autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (PKD) runs in my family on my dad’s side. the way it goes is you only need one copy of the allele to have this form of PKD so if one parent has it and the other doesn’t theres a 50/50 chance a child will have it and like... my nana died from it about 10 years ago her sister died of it their father died from it and one of my uncle and one of my aunts both have it and two of my uncle’s kids have it and im like kay im not gonna worry about this i dont have it since i dont think my dad has it. but like.. symptoms dont really start till your about 60 and my dad’s gonna be 58 and he’s starting to show the warning symptoms of it and we don’t know yet if he has it he’s gonna get an ultrasound or some other testing to find out but im like... so terrified because if he has it then me or any of my 3 siblings could have it like 50/50 is not a very good chances 

but like... there’s no way to prevent it and you either go on dialysis and die from it or wait for  kidney transplants  you might not even get 

so i feel very uh

like me and my family has been sentenced to death
