happy pride month š³ļøāš
You can only reblog this today.
You know technology literacy is dying because I saw this meme with 76k likes
F11 the full screen button? Youāre scared of the full screen button? F10?? It opens the menu bar???
Computers are so scary what if I accidentally hit F12 in a steam game and it takes a screenshot. What if I press shift + F12 while in word and accidentally save my document š
If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but āļø don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you
Never stop learning+ Never stop sharing what you learned
Sending you some purrsitive energy to start the week š¾š¤
I have started unironically doing this. It is DEVASTATINGLY effective. You make friends SO easily.
Stop wishing people would do this and be the person who does this.

No cheeses for us meeces.
He found the bare necessities. Thatās why that bear can rest at ease.
HOW TO TURN OFF GOOGLE AI in GMAIL:
Open Gmail in your browser
Click on the Gear Icon āļø in the upper right
In the General Tab, scroll down to "Smart Features" and UNCHECK THE BOX. It is about halfway down.
Then, right below that is Google Workspace smart features. Click on the "Manage Workspace Smart Features" and make sure both toggles are OFF
things librarians judge you for:
saying the book came to you like that when clearly your dog chewed on it
trying to reshelve books on your own
yelling at us to get our attention
talking on your phone when weāre trying to assist you
yelling at non-management staff for policies they have no power over
asking for more time on the computer when the session has already logged you off, you needed to ask for that time 5 minutes ago
asking us to look something up for you by the call number. the call number tells you where it is. please just give me the title.
getting upset with us for anything COVID related
things librarians do NOT judge you for (unless theyāre bad at librarianing):
reading erotica
using the copier incorrectly
not speaking english as a first language
being an adult and not reading grown up books
owing fines
liking romance novels
finding out your childās card is blocked because theyāve been billed for books theyāve secretly been hiding behind their dresser
having books overdue
you liking graphic novels and comics
your CHILD liking graphic novels and comics. seriously. we just want them to read.
taking books off of a display
asking us to check and make sure we donāt have a book you returned (with COVID and quarantining books, more things are getting missed, so asking a librarian to do a shelf check is okay! but be nice. we are So Tired and Busy. if you say something like āif youāre busy feel free to check when you have time and get back to meā we will love you. we will probably be like āyouāve been nice so iāll go right nowā)
things librarians judge, but donāt judge YOU for:
James Patterson. Look. we all know everyone likes him. Thatās great, we love that people read because of him! But we do judge James Patterson as an entity. Heās got so many goddamn books. they take up so much goddamn space. james. jimmy. jimsicle. just. stop putting your name on things, please, we are begging you. liking james patterson is Valid. BEING james patterson is not valid.
I donāt think the general public gets the longstanding in-joke among librarians about James Patterson but it makes me laugh every time (just like Ea-Nasir jokes on Tumblr).
And yes, we legit DO judge James Patterson, but not James Patterson fans.
As someone who used to work at Barnes & Noble, booksellers also judge James Patterson. His books take up so much space!
