The worst part about writing is that sometimes you actually have to write.
The best part about writing is also that sometimes you have to write.
I will not elaborate further.

yes i read my own fanfiction. im Literally the target audience. i wrote this for me, not you
Yes I re-read my own fics because I wrote them for ME
I think Self Shippers need to kick it up a notch and have Fictional Enemies, make a self insert whose life goal is to beat the shit out of a canon character
This is the the funniest fucking tag I’ve seen on this post yet
When you find a fanfic writer you like:
Here’s Part Two of The Fix-It Fic!
Back again with the rest of my fix-it fic for The Letter for the King! Read Part One and Part Two on AO3 if you like, or read Part One here on Tumblr and Part Two below the line! Warning: This is much more of a crack fic than the first part, and no, I’m not sorry about it.
Part Two: In Which Lavinia, a Canonical Healer, is Unable to Heal Jussipo Because She’s Exhausted Her Magic After Defeating Viridian
It’s Finally Done!
So, I mentioned writing a fix-it fic for The Letter for the King a while ago, and I finally got around to rewatching the last episode. I’ve written two alternate scenes for the show as a remedy for our sweet bard boy’s death. The second one is definitely more of a crack fic than anything serious, though. Part One delves into the death of an alternate character, while Part Two deals with the possibility of Lavinia being physically unable to heal Jussipo herself.
You can find the fic on AO3 here: Part One & Part Two
Or, you can go ahead and read Part One right now!
Part One: In Which Someone Has to Die, Obviously, Because These Kids Do Not Deserve a Happy Ending
you know what’s pretty cool? fanfic writers and fanfic in general. not only is it free, anyone can get involved and share and be creative. it’s such an exciting outlet and i’m so proud of all you fanfic writers and readers out there.
another thing that’s pretty damn awesome is how amazing of writers a lot of you are. we might not have fancy editors or publishers or whatever, but we have betas or friends or just plain grammarly to help us out and you know what? i’ve read plenty of fics that i thought we’re better than books.
you know that AU you wrote? that story is your own. you might have used character names and maybe their background info, but you created a story different than the one given to us. i love y’all.
you know that canon compliant story or that story set in the same universe you wrote? hell yeah, we wish that we had that content in the original. fucking kudos.
all the one shots, multi chapters, freaking series, all of it. crack and all, it’s so impressive. you all deserve more applause and appreciation, but know as an avid writer and reader, keep on doing what you’re doing. you are so appreciated and so loved. thank you!
two essential skills for artists
“good enough” and “fuck it”
“good enough” is when you are working on something and are happy with most of it but can live with a few imperfections, useful when needing to move on from sketch to inking/coloring or what have you.
“fuck it” is when you absolutely hate what you’re doing every step of the way but you post it anyways, very useful during art blocks.
both are useful to help you move on and not obsess over making it perfect, because art is anything but perfect, even photo realistic artists probably see imperfections that someone else might not catch
these can also be applied to other things in life
I can tell you that this also applies to writing. I have several ‘fuck it’ fics I’ve actually posted.
