i've gone off about this in multiple discord vcs now so yall get this line of thinking too

but why in vsmp, did no one in character bring up the fact that v!avid getting turned could've actually killed shelby???

like. bros WHOLE PLAN was. and i quote. "vamp up, vamp down." so: get turned, fix the demon problem. get cured.

and by that point in the series everyone knew the cure required the sire to die! and no one knew if that meant kill the starting sire (ex: kill scott, cure pyro then shelby then v!avid) or kill the direct sire aka shelby.

shelby very likely would've been killed to cure avid per his plan. even if he decided to stay a vampire (like in canon) town could've force cured later on- which still (most likely) kills shelby

so basically. v!avid either didn't think that through and put his friend in danger (ignorance) OR. he knew that risk and did it anyway (BRUH...)

all this to say: owen and pyro were absolutely justified in killing that guy and this is just another reason why. 100% a liability let's stake him again

me as a teenager: man it sucks to have no privacy or autonomy but i guess its for a good reason. when i turn 18 i will realise how young i was and understand why they did all that.

me as an adult: teenagers are an oppressed class, their abuse is normalised and systemic and they need to start killing people

I do think it explains a lot about the vsmp fandom if you look at the view count of Scott's pov compared to basically anyone else in the cast.

This is likely to be of no interest to anyone other than myself, but I am so inordinately proud of my little popularity contest spreadsheet. There's a few patterns of interest here, but I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that Scott's data alone brings the average view count of vsmp as a whole up by a whopping 22 thousand views, which I think qualifies him as an outlier. If you factor in Owen and Shelby, then yeah, it's no wonder it seemed like the entire fanbase was on team Scott Goldsmith.

#i like these prev tags yoink #anyway #i think this also contributes #to why i have consistant issues with the way v!scott is shipped #with seemingly little regard to the characters #people jumping onto bloodloathing lately for example #and seemingly ignoring leg's entire situation trauma reasons for hating scott ect #i like bloodloathing! bloodloathing is great!#i have a fair few unposted bloodloathing doodles from during the time when episodes were airing #but none of those doodles are fluffy flirting #not trying to go all 'holier than thou' but the lack of care or thought given to the actual dynamic really bugs me #and has bugged me in regard to a lot of vsmp ships actually #cause this fandom really does feel so obsessed with the idea of the gay romance #and a lot of that #simply put #is in direct relation to the treatment of scott #which circles back to him being such a viewership outlier #cause if we have a significant portion of the fandom that is mainly invested in one character #that pushes a certain way of interaction and fandom built around these characters #idk man this is a rant #but this does explain quite a few fandom behaviors around goldsmith that really bug me

one of my favourite flavours of relationship is platonic but they're weird about it. there is nothing casual about their friendship. they are deeply platonically abnormal about each other. if one of them also has a romantic partner they are less important to them than this person.

There are so many wonderful and entertaining dynamics where Scar gets to be as chaotic as he pleases while the other person yells at him in disbelief. Funny man ー Straight man (also knows as boke-tsukkomi, for weebs like I am) is a proven comedy duo formula that works, and works well.

Which is why it upsets me when people try to push Cub and Scar in this box. Because Cub presents you with a dynamic that hasn't been explored before: what if you thought everything Scar Goodtimes does was fucking awesome. What if you were completely down to get into any and all trouble with him without a single question asked.

What if Hotguy were the sexiest man alive. Well, he is, obviously, and Cub is gonna collect all merch of him that exists, and give him a dedicated corner in the museum, and outbid everyone for the Hotguy painting auction. Because Hotguy just makes him feel a special sort of way, you see.

What if the magic crystals were actually real. And they are. They possess secret, powerful capabilities no one can begin to understand. They bend time and space. You should totally visit the wizard in the jungle and buy everything in stock. Cub did that and Cub absolutely does not regret it.

Scar wants to abuse his authority as the POE, blowing up all shops that he deems unworthy? He should do that. Here are some TNT blocks.

Scar wants to burn down the s11 map, despite the hard work of the firefighters? He should do that. Here is a flint and steel.

I can keep going for eternity. Cub loves crazy. Cub IS crazy, he is Scar's wonderful mad scientist friend who he is a little scared of. Just because he knows how hard Cub can go. Every hermit knows how hard Cub can go. Cleo thinks Cub is the scariest hermit (despite being able to handle him herself pretty well). Doc, despite his evil theatrics, doesn't dare to mess with Cub. Cub can destroy entire Minecraft ecosystems in seconds just because he thought it would be funny. He is not no-nonsence, he is all nonsence.

And he loves his friends so much! Including Scar, especially Scar! He is an incredibly involved hermit who is always ready to help people and participate in community projects. He often laughs at Scar's jokes when no one else does. He always treats Scar with respect, seeing him as an incredible strong and capable individual. And he gets so, so worried when there is even a tiny implication that Scar might actually be in trouble.

TL;DR: Cubfan135 is the silliest man alive who is deeply enamored with everything Scar does and you should treat him as such
