My Raw Food Experience…
If you are looking for a super healthy & delicious meal than this is the place to be!
I am a huge meat and dairy eater and I was intrigued when I was told about this place. LIttle BIrd only serves vegan/ vegetarian and raw food which means no meat, eggs, wheat and dairy.. and everything is served raw. I love how they have a substitute for everything.. i.e they used nut milk as a substitute for milk. I ordered Raw Mexican plate which came with handmade raw corn tacos filled with jalopeno slaw capsicum salsa, chimichuri, guacamole & dirt rice. I also had a blueberry cheesecake which is coconut milk based. Both food were very satisfying. I still can’t understand how un-banked and dairy free cheesecake can taste this good.
Their food is truly inspiring and it would make you want to go vegan. Their food is a bit pricey but it’s what you expect to get on raw / organic food.
This place is really worth a visit!

I visited Tom tom a few times last year mainly just for the drinks and bar food. My hubby and I decided to come here for dinner along with our 2 boys (3 & 5). Tom tom is more of a bar than a restaurant but I was so surprised how kid friendly this place was but that is probably because we came here on a Sunday night when they're are not very busy.
Tomtom has one huge deck. The atmosphere and set up is awesome with plenty of tables and large umbrellas. A perfect place to go to on a hot summers place.
The food was great! We ordered Raw Tuna, Raw Beef, Breads n' Dips and Chicken Thighs to start with and we loooooved it! They were all presented nice and it tastes good. It's a shame that they've 'ran out of oysters since we were really looking forward to trying it.
For the mains my hubby and I both had a steak & my boys had fish chips.. The steak was cooked to perfection although I think they could do better with their garnish ( i.e some salad perhaps and also a little bit of beef jus on the steak?)
The desserts were also very well presented and incredibly cheap.. we had a Nuttella chocolate mousse, Vanilla pannacotta and their peanut butter ice cream was to die for!
Staff was attentive and very friendly.Tom Tom is perfect for after work drinks on a Friday night and a Saturday night out with a big group of friends. If you are thinking of taking the kiddies with you best to come here on a Sunday.
Menu: 4 out of 5
Food: 4 out of 5
Service: 5 out of 5
Ambience: 5 out of 5
Overall we spent $181 for 2 glasses of wine, 2 fizzy drinks, 4 small plates, 2 main meals, 3 desserts + 2 scoops of ice cream.
Happy New Year !
What a crazy busy December!! I can't believe it's been 5 weeks since my last post! Hope you all had a great Christmas with your loved ones.

Further to my previous post.. Here's the Hair & Make up for our American Themed party. I went as Pocahontas
My DIY Costume..
I am so excited to go to our end of year party this year. The theme is "Party in the USA" which means.. anything American. My friends and I decided to go as Native Americans. I have been looking for costumes all week but had no luck.. There are a few costumes online but there is no way I'm spending $80.00 on a costume. I initially didn't want to make one as I don't know how to sew but I stumbled upon this beige suede dress from Valley Girl so I decided to give it a go. I also made a head piece to go with it. I was pleasantly surprise at how easy this was.
Here are the things you'll need..
- Dress ( beige or cream dress) - I bought mine on sale from Valley girl.
- Brown strip to use as a belt (around 1m to 1.5m- I bought mine from Spotlight for $5.99/m)
- 1/8 fur fabric ( bought from Spotlight for$7.50)
For the head piece you'll need..
- Feathers
- 2m brown leather cord and 1m beige leather cord.
Step 1 :
- Cut the fur fabric into 4 strips & cut slits on the strips to make the fringe.
Step 2:
-Attach the fringe on the neckline and around the back- if you can't sew, you can also use a glue gun.
Step 3:
-Fold the dress into half and cut the bottom of the dress diagonally to make a triangular hem.
Step 4:
-Attach the fringe on the bottom edge of your dress.
For the head piece
Step 1:
-Cut the brown cord into 1m long each, braid all 3 cords together according to the size of your head.
Step 2:
-Attach the feathers on the cord using a glue gun.
Viola! Here's what it looks like..
I had so much fun creating this costume. I will post more photos next week with my hair and make up!
Cirque Du Soleil- Immortal World Tour
This show was just out of this world, spectacular, unforgettable, and unbelievable! My hubby and I have been looking forward to watching Cirque du Soleil, we missed last year’s show so we made sure we see it this year. This show was amazing!
I had not seen a Cirque performance before so had no expectations. I would say this show is for fans of MJ, and people who don’t mind watching people dance in cool costumes.Cirque group didn’t do more crazy acrobats and stunts like I pictured.. it is not a typical Cirque show - it had a lot less stunts but with that being said- if you love Michael Jackson- they did a great job with paying tribute to the King of Pop. The performers were all very talented and they made it look so easy and effortless.
The Pole Dancer was so unbelievable. Air Acrobats couples where breathtaking and the One-Legged breakdancer was inspirational. The best part of the show was the dancing group with the lighted suits!
Any Michael Jackson fan will totally enjoy this. Excellent music and video set up. If you are after a show that just features just acrobats and acrobats only, no, this isn’t the show for you. But if you’re a fan of Michael Jackson’s music and want to see some amazing talent, I would highly recommend this show!
What: Cirque Du Soleil - Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour Where: Vector Arena until November 3 - See cirquedusoleil.com for shows outside Auckland.
I had a great day today.. We've managed to take photos on this busy street where it's covered in trees.. Everyone has left Auckland for the long weekend and I was able to make the most out of this beautiful weather.. Stayed in the sun, went restaurant & cocktail hopping.. totally enjoyed today.. Here are the photos taken earlier.. I don't have a lot of time today so I'll talk more about the food & drinks some other time.
