NEVER FORGET WHAT THEY TOOK FROM US (the alaym we could've had).
peak fiyercrow & dorothy dynamic tbh
I've seen some people say they miss the "good fortune, witch hunters" line in "March of thrones Witch Hunters" but personally I miss Fiyero's loud, angry "What?!" when he's listening to Elphaba slander in "Thank Goodness".
Boq: Welcome to the âfuck Elphabaâ club, where we all talk about how much we hate Elphaba.
Fiyero: âŚ
Fiyero: I may have misunderstood the purpose of this club.

Guys, I'm getting low key obsessed thinking about the Dorothy plot happening in the background during Wicked: For Good, specifically just Fiyero's POV.
Like, Fiyero is already having a doozy of a day and then suddenly there is this small child that his ex sent off to see The Wizard, who he knows can't help, and she's just so sweet and she just wants to go home and seriously Glinda what's with giving the child Nessa's shoes?
But, okay, I guess since she has absolutely no parental supervision I should go with her and make sure she makes it to the Emerald City, right? Maybe I can steer her towards Elphaba and she can come up with something? Right, good plan. This is a plan.
Oh how can I talk? That's...a good question. I came to be this way yesterday? Nope. No memory at all. Only straw up here. Actually, you know what? That's why I'm going to see The Wizard. Yep. No other reason.
And Fiyero does his typical thing of trying to distract from the bad by making other people happy because he really doesn't want to traumatize this girl more than she already has been.
But, slight hiccup in the plan, they run across a Tin Man who is...fuck...that's totally Boq.
And of course Dorothy, sweet girl that she is, wants to help.
Fiyero is going into a panic hoping Boq doesn't recognize him.
Oh he looks familiar? Huh, that's strange, he was basically born yesterday. Nope, can't say I know you. Nothing but straw up here.
So his plan is now derailed because Boq does still believe in The Wizard and no way is Fiyero letting this guy anywhere near Elphaba. Maybe we can ditch him and what do you mean there is a Lion here too?
Anyway, my point is, if/when we get another Wicked movie, this is the midquel I want.
Keep it as much in line with the 1939 Wizard of Oz as possible without contradicting what we know happens in Wicked. Since this is a Wicked movie, in terms of order of priority of continuity Wicked takes precedent but otherwise defer to Wizard of Oz. Have Jonathan Bailey come back to sing "If I Only Had a Brain". And just keep it as much in this man's POV as you can.
(And small aside, if I had a farmhand back home that reminded me of Jonathan Bailey, then yeah, I'd miss him most off all too)
Elphaba: I canât believe Fiyeroâs here⌠maybe Iâm misinterpreting? He just wants to join my fight against the Wizard, or maybe he got cold feet with Glinda, but he doesnât want ME surelyâŚ.
Fiyero: Elphaba We Need To Fuck Nasty Right Now Or Else Iâll Die
before we part
something iâve been thinking about after seeing wicked: for good is what would have happened after âwonderfulâ if elphaba never found the locked up animals? they made it seem like it was such an easy fix, that elphaba would just be accepted after however many years of being villainized by these people. like, you expect me to believe the wizard would just show up with elphaba and say âoh weâre good now?â and that would be that? no. it would have been played in the wizardâs favor, because thatâs the crux of every decision heâs made.
something different from the musical in the film â at the end of the song, the wizard tells elphaba that with her by his side the people âdonât need an enemyâ referring to the animals. but in act one, he says nothing unites people better than a common enemy. heâs not contradicting himself; there will still be an enemy. itâs still her. thereâs absolutely no way elphabaâs ârehabilitationâ into oz would be played as anything but the wizard âtamingâ her with his âpowerâ. he tells elphaba that if he tells oz the truth that he has no power, they just wonât believe him. and even if they would, he will never do that.
and the addition of glinda in the song just furthers the point that when you stand by the wizard, you really have no voice. everything glinda is in act two is by the wizardâs design. she knows the same things elphaba does, but she doesnât say it because, like the people of oz, she doesnât want to believe it. glinda has no authority, whether she is aware of that or not. she sees this as an easy fix â she marries her love, gets her best friend back; and on paper, yes, this is such a happy ending, but she doesnât realize that she puts elphaba (and fiyero) in a position that limits them. and that doesnât make her evil or vindictive, it just drives home the point that the wizard is a very convincing con artist.
and what will happen when elphaba tries to advocate for something that is against the wizards vision? theyâll try to silence her, say that sheâs still ârecovering from her wicked waysâ or some bullshit. by the wizardâs side, she will never be taken seriously. and the wizard knows that. so yeah, heâll let the monkeys go because itâs a small price to pay for having elphaba, someone with immense power, under his control.
when chistery led elphaba to the secret passage where the animals were locked up, it was because he saw through the wizard. heâs been silenced so he canât warn her verbally, so he does the next best thing. i donât think the monkeys ever really blamed elphaba the way she blamed herself â they just became what she was bound to become if she agreed to be with the wizard. and so, when elphaba freed the locked up animals from their cages, she was also freeing herself. wicked was never going to have a happy ending.
My leg is sparkles, my leg is pins
one of my favorite things about the ALAYM scene is the dichotomy in their actions in the scene. While Elphaba is completely shook/processing the events of the last 10 minutes, Fiyero's instantly making himself at home.
As a fellow anxious girlie, I know Elphaba was probably like "wait - so he didn't believe the propaganda and he held the wizard at gunpoint and he is here now and he just committed treason and--" Meanwhile, Fiyero like "finally! I found Elphaba and we are together đ ...and I'm wearing too many clothes." He did not have a split second of regret or anxiety about committing high treason, and was focused on affirming/validating Elphaba. I love that for her.
"Elphaba, we're going to be together always."
im actually so mad they didnt have fiyercrow wearing his little hat at the end LOOK HOW GOOD IT LOOKS
