I originally had something a lot cuter and squishy planned for this piece but once I had it thumbnailed the characters pumped the brakes like NOPE, we’re gonna make you think you forgot how to draw, lolol. After giving up and starting to randomly doodle, this happened. 

Little brats wanted to snog instead.

A little thought about this particular passage in Jeweler Richard LN 6

The way Richard speaks about identity as fluid rather than static is vital here. We live in a society structured by regulatory, legislative, and educational efforts designed to uphold a normative sexual narrative and discourage questioning. Individual characteristics, such as gender and ethnicity, can profoundly affect the realisation of identity. It isn’t simply a "choice" that presents itself during adolescence; rather, self-identity is a continuous process influenced by various life course factors.

This story challenges the "one-size-fits-all" assumption that people necessarily realise their sexual identity during their teenage years. Richard is older and was even engaged at one point, yet he is now developing feelings for Seigi and accepting them for what they are. In today’s climate of greater openness, there is more room for identity integration. Ultimately, his journey shows that there is no "right" or "wrong" moment in life to discover something that can change your trajectory for the better.
