I'd Like to Say I Was Waiting For You ( I Wasn't ) [mafialeaderkuzu]
"Well I’ll probably come across her at least once or twice," He shrugged, “She probably ain’t as exhausting as the magician I met. Like yeesh, hyper happy girl always on your back." He had thought about the others he met, but Kuzuryuu really didn’t know them well, so he kept that comment to himself.
He nodded, “I guess it is better than the others." Shrugging as he silently disagreed with Peko’s comment of the respectful comment.
Kuzuryuu paused, "…Birthday?" Taking a moment to think of the current date and realizing he missed Peko’s birthday, he frowned, “Oh yeah, I missed that this year, didn’t I…?" Scratching his head in slight embarrassment, “Happy late birthday I guess." He was getting angry at himself, of course he was busy that day, but he didn’t even do anything again this year.
Focusing his attention back on Peko, he took a moment to think, usually he didn’t spend time with her, but this was a new environment, he might as well take the opportunity, right? He could easily go off and find his way around himself, but he decided to let Peko do the leading for once. Nodding as he answered, “Eh, sure. I got nothing better to do."
"...That does sound rather exhausting" She agreed with him, slightly wondering how she'd deal with a person as overly happy as he was describing.
"Ah. Thank you." She liked it when he remembered the day and congratulated her but she also wouldn't have minded if he had forgot it completely this time, it wasn't an important date to her. It wasn't special. "It isn't important anyway I was simply surprised to receive so many congratulations..."
Peko nodded once again slightly surprised that he accepted the offer. "Very well, do you wish to go now...?" Her food was still untouched but she wouldn't want to make him wait if he wanted her to show him around.

"Yes, that’s true. It’s incredibly irresponsible not something I would expect from a member of the staff…" Mahiru mused, resting her chin in her palms as she sighed. This situation wasn’t the best, really. Even so, part of her was thankful that she was able to meet Peko and talk to her for a bit. “We’ll have to report this, or something, so we make sure things like this don’t keep happening."
"I see." The redhead watched the door as Peko explained. It definitely made a good deal of sense. She was wondering if Peko had ever had to break doors down before, or if it was just something she sort of already knew through her training. She smiled at Peko’s next words. “Well, it’s true. If I’d been stuck with anyone else, I’d probably be panicking or something. So I’m glad to be in your company." She admitted.
Peko nodded "Yes... it's almost obligatory, I can't imagine the damage being done if something like this happened somewhere less" she looked around the room, trying to think of a word that was best to describe it. ".. less quiet.. maybe even a chemistry room. I believe that could end a lot more destructive.."
It was surprisingly nice to hear that someone enjoyed her company, instead of being wary or even show signs of fright. "I appreciate your words... and I'm glad I could keep you calm, it's what helps you out of the worst situations I've found.." She gave a quick glance to the clock hanging in the classroom, maybe she should offer to break the door down sooner, or maybe show Mahiru how she could do it herself? It didn't feel like anyone would come anytime soon.
Cosplay Frenzy!! [mafiatoolpeko]
The local, active mall was bustling packed full of several eager shoppers today. The weekend had newly come in and so did several shopping sales in several participating stores. Bargain hunters from all over the city and beyond were gathered, hoping to get the best deals on maybe those shoes they’d been eyeing for a week or maybe getting a good price that necklace for that special someone they’d been thinking of.
It wasn’t often that Nidai came to the shopping district, much less to the huge mess that was the mall shopping center today, but earlier in the week he’d noticed a few nice coupon clippings while seated upon his porcelain throne and decided that this would be the weekend he’d make his sales expedition.
Oh but if only he’d known better. The endless crowds of oncoming people had made Nidai lightly regret choosing one of the most popular days of the week to come along. However, the robust teen would not let such a thing as a crowded mall be any damper upon his spirit! ‘That XP22 elliptical is gonna be mine for less than 120,000¥ and THERE ISN’T A SOUL ALIVE THAT WILL STOP MEEEEEE!!’ he mentally roared, as Nidai decided to bustle right on into the crowd itself head-on. He received a few stares here and there, but he passed them off as nothing but others taking notice of his stature.
Peko strongly regretted going to the mall on a Saturday, it was to crowded for her to overlook, there were too many people moving to fast and she felt terribly wrong and lost. At least she was here alone, if she'd come together with the young master the possibility was high that she would have actually spoke up against this place, there was no way she could protect him in this chaos. Not if she couldn't even see the next exit.
But she was alone, so that was one thing less to worry about, still people elbowing her or running her over with shopping bags twice their size wasn't exactly the most pleasant thing and at some point she felt like some people started to point at her, whispering a bit.
She tried to pay it no mind and orientate herself. There was actually a reason she went to this place during a weekend, one good enough to ignore how much she disliked crowds. The only well equipped kendo shop in this city was in here, and today she had found out was a special sale. Most of the things didn't interest her as she had all equipment she needed and even things she didn't have could be supplied by the school. But the prospect that had informed her of the sale also mentioned a set of several very well made katanas and she couldn't let the opportunity slip to at least get a good look on them. With that in mind she started pushing through the crowds again still ignoring the whispering around her.

"Thank you," Junko sniffled. “I just, I don’t like being alone. I’m so used to being around other people. But I can’t really go out today like this," she tried to explain her feelings to Peko, unsure if she was able to get them across accurately to the stoic swordswoman.
"I have a bunch of movies on my laptop, you could set it up on the desk and we could just watch one together," she offered. “You can even pick," she said, attempting a smile.
"It's no problem, you are sick so you shouldn't go out anyway...", Peko had never felt like having a lot of social contact, especially not when she was sick and thus Junkos motive was not really understandable to her, but objecting would be rude. Still she would try her best to keep the other company.
"That sounds nice... I- .. really shouldn't choose though. I haven't seen many movies, I wouldn't know what to pick." She looked for the laptop and found it close to the bed. With some awkward fumbling she managed to start it and put it on the desk, but when it made the welcoming noise she was at the end of her knowledge and just looked over to the other, feeling slightly embarrassed.

Mondo made an odd face, as if he had tasted something he wasn’t fond of. He felt like he shouldn’t have said that, but oh well. Too late. “Yeah, met a lot of kids that break that stereotype. But its hard to break out of that mindset, you know? ‘specially after 18, 19 years of that shit being subconsciously ingrained by society.."
Mondo Oowada, actual social warrior. But he sighed and let it roll off of his back. He cast a glance to this girl, wondering if she worked for anyone. She was serious, maybe she was friends with Mukuro. Oh well. He shrugged at her words. “Yeah, I’m bein’ honest when I say I’m tryin’ to stop fightin’. At least here at school, anyway. It’s not good to be put in the office every other week. On the streets, doesn’t matter, but here, yeah gotta watch it.
"As for fighting, yeeeah.. I had perfectly good reasons. But for information I can’t indulge in, lets just say they were getting into things that they didn’t need to, and they were about to spread it around. So of course, I couldn’t let them do that. I was just protecting what was mine."
"It's fine" Peko had been brought up as far from mainstream society as possible without living on a rock and had at first thought peoples surprise of her winning matches was because of her young age and the fact that she hadn't made appearances before. It took her a bit to understand that the assumptions were because of another matter entirely. "As long as I know my own abilities it doesn't matter what other people assume to know."
She nodded in slight approval at what he said, it was good to know that he tried to stop the fighting at school. That meant less violence and the possibility of him and Fuyuhiko clashing was smaller too. His reasoning made sense too, if there was something Peko understood well it was trying to protect something you held close. "If that's the case then there's no need to persuade this topic. I believe you."
Once again she was unsure whether to continue the conversation or if it was best to just leave so they could both return to their own training. She was about excuse herself and turn around when she noticed a few lines on peeking out over his shoulders. with her interest perked she decided to stay longer and asked: "I hope you don't mind me asking.. but are you getting a tattoo?"

This was all very useful information for Touko. She began to contemplate dramatic metaphors and poetic langauge. She clasped her hands and turned her eyes upwards. “Th-the sensation of being alone eve when you’re surrounded by people, the constant bustle of other people , w-with their own lives and stories…"
"Thanks, I guess." She scowled with distaste at having to thank someone who clearly hated her. Then, with a shy smirk, she continued.
. “I…I think I’ll credit you in the author’s note, if you don’t mind."
"Yes that is... fitting", the description sounded nice and she couldn't help but be more interested in the novel now.
Her name in a book? Admittedly it would only be in the author's note, which most people skipped anyway but ... Peko wasn't sure this was something she was allowed to do, so she didn't know why with a sudden extremely unfamiliar feeling of rebellion she said: "Of course, that would be very kind of you."
Would that be something to regret? She was unsure of it and she couldn't put the feeling she had right now anywhere other then it was weird. The best course of action seemed to change the topic, so it wouldn't show how confused she was about herself at this moment. "... If you don't mind me asking, how long does it take you to write a novel?"

Quirking an eyebrow at the word ‘interesting’, he sighed, “The only people I’ve come across all had a bad start." He didn’t bother mentioning his first incident of almost being blinded by a smoke pellet, shrugging further into the seat, “But I haven’t met no writer like you have." Kuzuryuu took a second to think how much of the school he knew, which wasn’t much. “This school must really be as good as they say." Moving his gaze around the cafeteria, then back to Peko, taking a second to think about how much of the school he knew about, which wasn’t much.
"I barely know any part of the school," He muttered, “I can get here and back to my dorm, and a vague idea of where I go for classes." Scratching his head in slight embarrassment, “I doubt I’m going to use most of stuff here, I’d rather not run into more annoying people."
"I'm not sure you'd like the writer... she can be... exhausting to talk to", she wondered who Fuyuhiko had met so far, silently hoping he hadn't started any fights yet. It would be hard to play her part as bodyguard in this school which was so much bigger then the one they used to go to. Not to mention that they had less classes together now.
Peko quietly nodded at his statement about the school before adding "It's on of the best schools there is, and most people so far have been very respectful", she stopped, thought about the last weeks and then added "I was actually given presents from some of them for my birthday. It was quite nice." She tried her best to hide it but there was a slight note of surprise accompanying her words. Except for the few times Fuyuhiko congratulated her her birthday had always gone by unmentioned.
"I can show you around if you wish...? The layout is very basic once you understand it" She was sure he'd get the hang of finding his way soon enough and probably wouldn't take up her offer, it was uncommon enough that he let her sit with him he surly wouldn't want her to show him around.

Junko was increasingly grateful to see the supplies Peko had brought back. The soup was met with a special relief; Junko was glad that she now had nourishment to sustain herself another day.
She sat up in bed after Peko’s request. Her eyes were watery, either from sickness, or tears of gratitude. “Well," she began, clearing her throat. “Do you have anywhere you have to be? Could you just.. stay here with me for a while?" The prospect of being alone and vulnerable wasn’t something Junko looked forward to. Simply having company at all would be a help to her. She was, after all, a rather social person. Spending the day feeling miserable by herself was a poor prospect, in her opinion. “We could just watch a movie, or something. You don’t even have to talk to me, just.. hang out?"
".... I meant to go outside but other then that I don't have any plans today. So I guess I can stay and .... hang out...." it was weird hearing those words out of her mouth, she would have never expected to hear herself saying them, considering how the only person her age she ever actually spent time with was Fuyuhiko. In another case Peko would have been a lot more wary of the request, as she assumed that the other girl liked interesting company with exciting lives who liked fun.
She didn't consider herself any of those things but currently Enoshima probably needed a rest more then fun so she'd be as good as anyone else. "I apologize though, I'm not the best of company." Maybe she should get a chair and sit down?

Mondos grin died down into a smile and he brought up the edge of his wifebeater to wipe away sweat off of his neck. He thought it was endearing that the girl had stopped him so he didn’t overwork himself. It seemed a mite foolish, but not enough to actually concern him. His eyebrows shot up in shock as he heard her title.
"Swordswoman? Damn. Knew it wasn’t long before I met a kendo freak, but didn’t know it was gonna be a chick. No offense or anything. Just figured it would be a guy. Shit, wheres my manners. Names Mondo Oowada, Super High-School Level Gang Leader. But ah, you’ve probably already heard of me by now. Gotten into enough fights around this joint to have my name slandered a bit."
He shrugged it off though. Whether or not vicious rumors had gotten to this girl or not was not his priority. Hopefully though, they hadn’t. He didn’t need more enemies at this point.
"No offense taken..", it happened before that people were surprised of her skill in kendo, especially when she started going to competitions a lot of people were surprised every time she won a match. When her name started to get known more it died down a lot but she still had the reaction every now and then. Not that she cared much "..though I find gender doesn't matter if you have the right determination."
Mondo Oowada, no wonder his face had seemed familiar to her, not because of those fights he had mentioned but because of his talent. As the bodyguard of an yakuza heir she had to recognize people dangerous and powerful enough to cause trouble. But that was business and as long as the biker didn't start anything with Fuyuhiko she would keep it out of her school life.
"I've heard of the fights and I can't say I approve" she crossed her arms and couldn't help but think about how many times she had had to pull her master out of trouble and fights he might or might not have started "but it would also be unwise to judge you upon them, I'm sure you had a reason for the violence..."

"Hm… Well, that’s understandable." Mahiru considered with a thoughtful nod. It was odd, since that’s something she’d always known. But for someone like Peko, who hadn’t been to very many places, it’d be somewhat understandable that she’d be at a loss. She decided to leave the subject be, since it seemed that she was a little uncomfortable considering it. “Maybe one day you’ll be able to travel a little."
"That’s true, I’m sure someone would come by to make sure the doors are unlocked and escapable." The redhead crossed her arms. This was probably just a silly mistake by a staff member— or even a prank. She couldn’t judge the entire school for that, though, she was sure they had some safety policies.
"Really?" Mahiru asked, taken aback. She didn’t participate in very many sports— she did tend to hike and do outdoors activities for her photographed landscapes— but otherwise, she didn’t have lots of strength to spare physically. But at the same time, Peko’s conformation made her sigh with relief. “To be honest, being here with you really sets me at ease, Peko-chan. So thanks for that."
"I might", though she was sure the location wouldn't be up to her.
"Still... it shouldn't have happened especially if this was a mistake made by a staff member." she gave a small sight, she had been taught all her life that the only important thing was to do your job right, so it was unimaginable to her how this could have happened, if it really had been a staff member.
Peko nodded. "It's a wooden door with a wooden frame, the only thing that won't break easily is the lock, if you apply force at the right point it will break." Mahiru's next words surprised her a bit no one ever said that to her before. Of course, making someone feel saver was technical her job but in the school she'd been before people usually avoided her. "... That's .. very generous of you to say.. "

He made a face in mild disgust, “A romance novel?" Raising an eyebrow in confusion, then shrugging, it wasn’t his choice of what she read. “So you met a writer?" Kuzuryuu tap his fingers on the table, he honestly had no idea how to continue the conversation, looking down at his tray to think of something to say.
"You’ve been here a lot longer than I have." He stated looking back up at her, “Is there anyone here worth talking to or something worth doing?" Shrugging once again, “I’ve had my collisions and stuff, but nothing that interesting.
Peko nodded feeling slight distress at the look on his face, she hadn't meant to upset him with her reading choices, maybe she should stop with the romance novels...
When she heard his question she took a while to answer as she was unsure what exactly he wanted to hear so she decided to simply give a status report. "I'm not entirely sure what would fall under the category of worth talking to, but almost everyone has something to say at least. I've met several people who I found interesting to talk to..." She gave the next of his questions some more consideration. As a consequence of memorizing the map, Peko knew the exact school layout without having visited every room but she almost put no attention to the places that weren't interesting to her. "I believe you can do almost everything here if that was your question... The dojo here is in excellent condition and has everything that could be needed and I'm positive the other rooms do too..."
