Brink/Collapse I (2019)
This is an installation of rebar hung from the ceiling of a small industrial space lined with wallpaper covered with hand-colored insect renderings. As the rebar extends from the ceiling, the insects fade to nothingness, slowing fading where ever the rebar has been. It explores the damage done due to habitat loss as human construction encroaches on the home of native insects.
Here are some images with the lights off. It was developed with special help from Dr. Luciana Musetti at the OSU Triplehorn Collection in the Museum of Biological Diversity. I am indebt to her kind education! Thank you!
