Here are some food-based shots. Which are probably a more accurate depiction of the entire trip’s motive.
Belgium by day! :)
Brussels by night. So incredible gorgeous. I didn’t realize until I got here what beauty this city was. I just went for the inexpensive hotel rate to be honest.
Graduation day!! Lets go do great things! :)
Another tribute. This time to the impeccable interior decor that was my Shanghai apartment. No worries, my apartment in Osnabruck is much more well-designed. But, I didn’t choose the decorations, so maybe that is why.
Here is a tribute to my awesome galpal roomates!! :) Miss you too. Hope (even though I know) you are rockin’ your Master’s degrees your super smart universities.
My main girl Megan flew all the way to Shanghai for her spring break to see ME! Can anyone say they have friends this awesome? We did all sort of Chinese-y things, and shoved as much tourism into my midterms week as humanly possible.
I don’t want to say this is my favorite place in the world, but I’m not sure how else to describe it. The dog cafe in Shanghai China (http://www.timeoutshanghai.com/venue/Restaurants__Cafes-Cafes/38149/Canil.html) is not as much a cafe, as a dog kennel that has a dispenser of hot tea, but I’m not complaining. 50 yuan gives you endless time with these doggos, and memories galore. Not to mention the shop is in the historic Shanghai 1933, the old meat packing building. Drag a friend with the promise of cultural architecture, then shove them in this lovely place. :)
Some shots from Seesaw coffee. One of the most “hip” cafes and budding epicenters of emerging coffee culture in Shanghai. Also, the topic of my ethnographic research and design thinking based Senior capstone! Check out http://www.maggiemwalsh.com/#/designing-participation/ to read more about the project! And if you check Seesaw out in person, get the fruity blend! :)
My trip down to Shenzhen to work with the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Innovation Program to brainstorm a tech workshop for the migrant workers of Baishizhou through ethnographic research! Great time! Thank you for the experience! Hope to be back! :)
Night market snacks in Taiwan
Photos from the inspiration of Spirited Away, Jiufen. So incredibly picturesque! :)
Shots from around Taiwan. Who knew there was a Typhoon while we were there??
Singapore!
Lloyd’s Inn, a surprisingly affordable hotel in the heart of Singapore!
Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. SO beautiful.
