“I suppose I might,” he shrugged as he followed the foot steps. It looks like they lead into a small cave in the woods. “We might want to be careful,” the Doctor pointed out as he took out his sonic screwdriver. He scanned into the cave and did pick up a life sign, most likely the deer. However, the walkers didn’t show up on his sonic screwdriver so it was very possible there could be some inside.
Maggie chuckled as she walked with him. She needed to integrate him into the society.
But as he stopped and whipped out his sonic to scan the cave ahead of them, she frowned at his words. “How come? What’s in there?”
“The deer is in there for sure,” he told her, “And there are no other life signs in there, however I haven’t figured out how to get my sonic screwdriver to pick up signs of the walkers yet, so it is very possible there will be walkers and in the dark cave it will be more difficult to see them. However the deer is still alive, so I assume it hasn’t ran into any yet.”
"Well, if the deer's alive, chances are there are no walkers, or it'd be rotting neat by now," Maggie pointed out.
"But," she continued, reaching for the gun in its holster om her belt, "If it makes ya feel any better, I've always got this," she then pulled a large knife from the other side of her belt, "And this, because the less noise, the better."
She clicked off the safety of her gun, and raised her knife into a suitable offensive position before stalking ahead of the Doctor and into the cave.
"Can't sleep?" [OOC] purely because I literally can't sleep rn
The Doctor looked over at her from where he sat. As a Time Lord, he didn’t require nearly as much sleep as a human. Time Lords only required sleep about once every five human years or so, but he knew humans required at least 8 hours every night. “Whats’ wrong?” he asked her curiously.
maggierheethewidow:
“Huh,” Maggie breathed, her brow furrowing, “So, does that mean you’re the last you? ‘cause you’ve regenerated thirteen times a'ready?”
To say she was befuddled was an understatement. “Sorry, Doc, it’s just hard to keep up sometimes. You’re pretty fast and sciencey compared to me.”
“I’m the last me,” he told her, “Unless the rest of the Time Lords suddenly reappear. They could give me more regenerations if they felt I deserved them. Otherwise, yes, I’m the last me.”
He laughed slightly, “I think you are more intelligent then you give yourself credit for.”
If she were being honest, she ignored his compliment. She wasn’t very good at accepting them. So she focused on his other words instead.
She was sad to hear that this version of her friend would be the last. Since telling her that he’d basically lived a thousand lifetimes, she expected the man to live forever. But this was it.
“This is the last you? That’s so sad. How long do these, uh, regenerations last? How long before you leave?” Maggie asked, twisting her back slightly so she could face the Doctor as he worked on massaging her sore muscles.
“Unless I find the Time Lords, yes, this is the last me. I know my planet is out there somewhere, having saved it from destruction from the war by making it disappear, but I don’t know where or if I’ll ever find them. I hope so, if I do, they could potentially extend my regeneration cycle.”
He laughed slightly at her question, “I still have a LONG way to go in this one. Even without regeneration, a Time Lord’s life span is very long. I could live another thousand years or so before dying of old age.”
She smiled, “You’ll find your people,” she reassured him, “I mean, you found us alright.”
The Doctor’s little laugh was contagious, and Maggie soon found herself chuckling along with him. “An’ it’s good to hear that I won’t be losing you too soon. A thousand years sounds good enough for us.”
“Finding something specific is a lot more difficult than just randomly running into something you didn’t know you were looking for,” the Doctor told her with a shrug, “I’m sure I’ll find them eventually, but right now my focus is helping you and trying to solve the issues with time that caused all of this, which involves fixing up my TARDIS.”
She sighed, not really having a response for his statement. Obviously he was right. It was going to be very difficult to find an entire species that didn’t want to be found.
Maggie tried to focus on something lighter, so the conversation didn’t get too dark and dreary. “Right, that big ol’ box a yours. Don’t worry about that, we’ll get it all sorted eventually. You know you’re welcome here at Hilltop for as long as you need to be before we get it kickstarted again.”
“I think I’m going to have to leave Hilltop to get it started,” he told her, “I’m waiting for the right time. The closet nuclear power plant is 2 states away. I would take at least a week to get there by walking. It would be possible of course, and even easier for me since I don’t require nearly as much sleep as a human. I might even be able to cut some of that time off with that advantage. However it would be a rather difficult travel.”
He thought for just a moment, “You’d be welcome to come with me of course. I could use your help.”
At first, Maggie's lip curled up at his words. Nuclear power plants? She had no idea about those.
But as soon as he mentioned walking that journey alone, her face relaxed as she went to argue. Thankfully, she didn't have to. He offered to let her tag along.
But... Maggie was the leader of Hilltop. Could she just up and leave them to go on an adventure again?
"Don't worry about walking, that ain't happening," she told her friend, "We got enough horses. They'll make the trip shorter. As for me popping along: I dunno, Doc. I'd have to check with Jesus, and maybe Tara. See if they'd be okay looking after this place while I'm gone."

maggierheethewidow:
Maggie was speechless. Her eyes were wide as they tried to take in what she was seeing around her. It didn’t help that this man wasn’t making any sense at all.
She turned to the man, an eyebrow raised elegantly, “I’m sorry, you’ve been to the future?” She questioned in disbelief. Was he kidding, or just crazy?
But then, if he was crazy, how could she explain whatever it was that was in front of her?
“Yes, I’ve been to the future. I’ve also been to the current time before and it was nothing like this,” he told her. You could tell from his voice he was very much concerned. “Something has happened with time and it helped cause this. It needs to be fixed, but I can’t fix it until I’ve fixed my TARDIS. Might you be able to help me?”
“Uh,” Maggie stuttered, still trying to understand a word this man said. “I don’t know how much of a help I can be.”
It was the truth. She couldn’t do much. Not for a spaceman from the future. She was a farm girl, living in a world where the dead were superior. She could shoot a gun, she could talk a few people into following her lead, but she had no clue about the science of this man’s world.
But if Maggie Rhee was anything, she was a helper, “But I’ll give it my best shot. What d'you need me to do?”
“We can repair this,” he told her, “If we find the right parts. However, given the current situation out there, it might be rather difficult to find those parts. The only place I can really think of that might have them are some major technology stores, military bases or nuclear power plants. Once the TARDIS is fixed, we can take it to the beginning of all this to figure out what happened and once we’ve figured out what happened, we should be able to solve it.”
“Uh,” she stuttered, her mouth dropping open, “hate to break it to ya, but I don’t think we’ve got many a those around these parts. You’ve come to the wrong part of Virginia, my friend.”
“Unfortunately, I didn’t have much choice in the matter,” he told her, “Most of the parts can be found elsewhere, but it could take years to find them all that way. Where would the nearest place to travel to like I’ve described?”
“Well,” Maggie frowned, “I wouldn’t actually know. I’m not exactly from around here either, I grew up in Georgia. I don’t know this state very well.”
She furrowed her brows in thought, “But, if you come back to Hilltop with me, we can ask around the people there. I’ve got some great people that know this place like the back a their hands. They can help you,” she confessed.
“Knowing this place might not help that much if there’s nothing anywhere near by,” he told her, “It could be another state, perhaps even states away. What we really need is a road map of some sort. That might be most helpful. Do you have any of those at your camp?”
A small grin appeared on her face. “That I can do. We’ve got a few of those. All in my office.”
Maggie chuckled, “We just gotta get back home alive.”
“I think we can do that,” he told her, “Where are we headed?”
“A little place called Hilltop,” she smiled, “Name pretty much gives everything away. It’s a community on top of a hill, with big walls to keep the dead out, and a bunch of lovely people living inside.”
Maggie stepped away from the Doctor, turning in the direction of home, “If ya’d like to follow me, we should get there before it gets too dark.”
“I’ll follow you, yes,” the Doctor told her, noticing that it was already starting to get a bit darker. He assumed there weren’t any clocks or phones for him to check the time, but it was easy to tell it was approaching evening.
“Which direction?” he asked her.
Maggie nodded her head in the direction of her community, adjusting the weapon on her belt for easy access – she needed to be ready if any walkers came at them.
"This way. It's not too far. We'll get there before nightfall if we make it quick. So, uh, no dilly dallying around, okay?"
"Could you say that again?" [OOC: sorry, but I'm curious]

“Well, a bit of bondage can be fun for everyone and I can be quite submissive in the bedroom,” he blushed.
maggierheethewidow:
She gave a small smile hesitantly, “To be honest, Doc, I don’t even know any more.”
The Doctor smiled, walking over and kissing her gently. “We don’t have to do anything right now,” he told her, “We can wait until you are ready. I’m sure these scarves will still be there. It is nice to know we have some common interests in that regards however.”
She smiled at his touch. It comforted her slightly, to know he understood. “Thanks, it’s just… I’ve not even thought about anything like this since…”
She paused, swallowing past the lump forming in her throat, “not since Glenn died.”
Of course, now it made sense. “Of course. I’m willing to wait until you are ready,” he walked over and offered a hug. “You want to talk about it?”
“It’s good to know I’ve got someone who cares,” she smiled, accepting the man’s hug.
She rested her chin on the taller man’s shoulder as they embraced, “Talking about it is a bit weird, if I’m honest. It’s, uh, a bit of a bummer; not much of a mood lifter, if ya get what I mean.”
“Yes, but talking about it can sometimes help in the long run. It’s all up to you of course,” he smiled slightly.
“Well,” she sniffled, “You know most of the story already. My husband died, he was brutally murdered. Right in front of me. And I was left to give birth to, and raise, his son all by myself. It’s not left me in the best of moods since.”
“Understandable,” he told her, “Terrible things seem to happen in this world, even before the whole walker thing.”
"Jesus," she sighed, "You can say that again."

“An’ you’re only telling me this now?” She laughed. “We coulda done with that earlier.”
She pushed the Doctor forward in the direction he had just mentioned, indicating that he should lead the way.
“Still not quite a turkey though. Jesus, a wild deer for Christmas dinner. What next?”
“It was five minutes ago,” he laughed slightly but lead the way outside to where he had seen it. He saw tracks in the snow that would lead them to it quickly. “Not quite a turkey,” he agreed, “But still good.”
She grinned at him, punching his shoulder playfully. “You’ve become quite the comic. You been spending too much time around Alden and Enid, methinks.”
He shrugged. “I actually haven’t spent a whole lot of time with anyone in your camp except for you.” He let it go however and followed her as they followed the foot steps.
Maggie bent down onto her haunches to inspect the tracks om the ground. She wasn’t Daryl, she knew that, but she could follow some simple footsteps, surely.
Her eyes glanced up at her friend quickly, “Really?” She questioned from her spot on the ground, “We’re gonna have to change that. You’d love everybody, I’m sure.”
“I suppose I might,” he shrugged as he followed the foot steps. Maggie:
Well, uh, recently, I just can't stop thinking about the freaking monster niggling at my head. Negan has invaded my goddamn brain. I don't even know why. But all I can think about is his goddamn eyes.
Mun:
Well, this girl is pretty similar. Made out with the sweetest guy ever yesterday, and I literally can't stop thinking about him 😍 ugh, I'm an adorable mess.
Send “Un-silenced!” for a secret from both the muse AND the mun!
Personally, after our last… encounter… I wouldn't really want to be seeing you with anybody else. I can get a little possessive. But, apparently, my goddamn writer would like to see you interact with Carol, see how that frosty tension would go down. She'd also like to see ya try it on with Tara, so you can get rejected quicker than you can say "Lucille" 😉
Carol. Hmm. Pretty in silver, she is. Scares me a bit– if I recall, she has a habit of settin’ people on fire.
Oh, I’ve tried makin’ moves on Tara already. We get on well, sure, but you’re right. It was the fastest rejection I’ve ever gotten. She made it humorous at least.
God, do I wish I coulda been there to see that. Come on, I'm curious, what did she say? How did Tara let you down?
