what are you looking for when it comes to the open skeletons?

hi anon, thank you for your patience ! we're definitely open to different interpretations of both skeletons, but there are a few things we'd especially love to see explored!

the altar: we’re looking for someone who starts off a tad more evil and morally unsettling. someone whose darkness is active rather than purely atmospheric. they can be capable of devotion, guilt, and even genuine care, but we don’t necessarily want those things to soften them into a secretly good person. we’d love to see an altar who leans into their secrecy, their willingness to manipulate the circle, and their belief that certain sacrifices are worth making. their presence within the group should feel like a genuine risk, while still grounding all of that ruthlessness in their grief over their sibling and their obsessive need to undo what they caused.

the grave: we’d love to see someone whose relationship with death and necromancy feels deeply ingrained rather than simply aesthetic. their mentor’s death fundamentally changed the way they connect to people, and we’re interested in the tension between someone who has deliberately stopped letting people close enough to matter and someone who is beginning, unexpectedly, to care about their cousin and the rest of the group. their knowledge is essential, but their obsession with death and necromancy can also make them unsettling in their own way. they understand the dead and maggot creek better than anyone, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll always make the safest choice.
