Alex Carpenter | Leaky Con London 2013
After visiting LeakyCon London I had to come back to this blog. The song in this video is "When the lights go out" by The Whomping Willows and it was just really moving to stand in a room full of people singing along to this song and meaning every single word of it. Matt truely belongs in the house of Awesome.
Team Starkid for a European Convention
That would be totally awesome!!! The German Streetteam is still trying to bring Team Starkid to Ring*Con - one of the biggest Fantasy Conventions in Europe. The negotiations are on-going but the organizers still need some convincing of the european fanbase. So please like our facebook-page:

On to another true Wizard Rock standard - The Whomping Willows with one of his most popular songs: House of Awesome. The Whomping Willows was there almost from the very beginning of WRock and has turned out to be a real Tree Hit Wonder. All of the songs are told from Whompy's perspective, so of course he's also responsible for some true christmas classics including "Let me be your christmas tree". If you're a Luna Lovegood fan at heart, you should also check out "I believe in Nargles", because chances are, you and Evanna Lynch will be dancing to that song before LeakyCon is over. (If you want to know more about the History of Wrock I recommend Melissa Anelli's book "Harry - A history". Even if you already know everything there is to know about the HP fandom, it's still a great book to relive those memories and get all nostalgic about reading Harry Potter for the first time. Interested? http://www.amazon.com/Harry-History-Wizard-Inside-Phenomenon/dp/1416554955) [This is a short Wrock introduction for my LeakyCon-bound-WRock-Newbie-friend]
There are many great Tonks and the Aurors songs, but for the purposes of partying at Leaky Con I decided to post Welcome to Hogwarts, my second favorite TatA song. (My favorite Tonks and the Aurors song has to be Candle in the Window, but that is a christmas song - now I will listen to christmas songs all year long, especially since the Jingle Spells compilations by the Leaky Cauldron are fantastic - you should check them out, if you haven't already!) But, as I said, since this is LeakyCon preparation, Candle in the window didn't seem as appropriate. So, listen to Welcome to Hogwarts and come back to Candle in the window in November. I promise, you'll be glad you did. (You might be sobbing, though - not making any promises that you won't need tissues).
To my LeakyCon-visiting-Wrock-newbie-Starkidfan-friend: Steph Anderson of Tonks and the Aurors went to the University of Michigan and according to this Pottercast (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/pottercast/?p=2024) was the one that introduced Melissa Anelli to A Very Potter Musical.
The next Wrock band that you definitely shouldn't miss at Leaky (you shouldn't miss any of them *duh*) is Gred and Forge. They have some great energetic songs and I suspect that their shows are a great opportunity to dance at!
Gred and Forge - Save the Quibbler
I'm gonna start a series of blog entries, in which I link to my favorite songs from the Wizard Rock bands and artists that are attending LeakyCon. A friend of mine is going to LeakyCon and I just want to introduce her to the awesome music she is about to see in concert - I wouldn't want her to find out about all of this after LeakyCon - missing great WRock concerts, just because you didn't know enough about Wrock at the time seems like a terrible wast.
Secondly I'm doing this to torture myself, since I won't be going to LeakyCon *leSigh* For starters I recommend listening to the Moaning Myrtles - Transparent. With Lauren Fairweather there will be one member of the Moaning Myrtles at Leaky - plus I think the song is a great introduction to Wizard Rock. And after Leaky many WRock-newbies might be able to go back, give it another listen and all the sudden recognize a whole bunch of bands/artists, that the Moaning Myrtles mention in this song.
For A World Full Of Sunshine And Klainebows: Team StarKid in negotiations with RingCon

So very beautiful! The Peverell story by The Butterbeer Experience.
There are way too many people who really do believe that "It sucks" (to be a Hufflepuff). Luckily The Butterbeer Experience made a song to prove them wrong.
One of my favorite Ministry of Magic songs: "Don't leave"
Love the song.
"I know it's been such a long time since we've just been friends - and not soldiers on the front line of a war, that we were born into..."
Beautiful description of what's going on in book seven.
The evolution of Darren’s neck wear.
This is beautiful. (‘:
