I’m getting ready to head off for my first-ever choral residency across the pond with a boadload of friends from both my morning and evening church jobs, so auspices for an exceedingly silly and musically satisfying time are good. In celebration, I’m sharing one of my sillier wizard “rock” projects, which is Hoggy Warty Hogwarts, aka the Hogwarts school song, which canonically can be sung to any tune. So naturally I chose the emo choral banger to rule them all, Gregorio Allegri’s setting of Miserere mei, Deus. I put this together this track with the help of the inimitable @dream-quaffle on the T/B lines as part of the House-Elf Tavern Choir book-accurate rendition of the Hogwarts School Song, masterminded and executed by the wonderful @dotsandlines.
