“Oh well thanks you’re very kind.” Ariel smiled towards the other girl warmly. “I’m Ariel” She stuck her hand out to shake the others always the bold one Ariel never thinking about consequences just going for whatever felt right to her.

“Eila.” She smiled, shaking the other girl’s hand. “Don’t you think this weather is marvelous?” she asked, tilting her head toward the sun once more.

“When I was a young, I used to think that stars turned into white birds in the morning light and slept with their heads under their wings until nighttime came again.” She smiled more or less wondering where the thought had even come from, as her fingers drew out more feathers on a dress. “Took me too long to figure out that wasn’t true.” Closing the notebook she smiled, “What was something odd that you thought was true as a kid?”

“Awyr fae,” Eila nodded. She understood completely. “Truth and facts aren’t always synonymous expressions.” A smile grew to her lips as she recalled some of her own tales, mind skipping over the ‘other years’ to some of her earliest memories. “I was almost certain my back yard was i gwn tylwyth teg as a child. I’m mostly sure it still is.” A pause followed as Eila looked to the sky, expression almost as if she could see the stars even now. “Your birds are still there I think.”

“Oh, it’s not about predicting the future,” Eila explained, spreading one of her tarot decks in front of her. “Not at all. The fun is in the interpretation - your feelings interpret the cards differently than anyone else. And even fun can contain a spark of truth. Have you never had your cards read?”

Ariel stepped outside of the school building, at last some fresh air. She had been in need of clearing her head and not feeling stuffy and cramped in that hallway. She hadn’t been paying attention and she bumped right into someone. “Oh hey I’m sorry.” She smiled brightly at the other. “I wasn’t paying attention totally my fault.”

Eila herself had been enjoying the crisp Massachusetts winter air. She was still intrigued by how cold it got here in comparison to Wales. Her eyes had been closed, head tilted toward the sun, so she was not suprised at the least that someone had run into her. “Oh, it’s impossible to pay attention to all the things in the world at once. Something was bound to fall by the wayside. It’s quite all right.”

“Oh uhm.. I- did you are you here to see- can I help you?” She asked opening the door rubbing her eyes. Who would be there to see her? Her eyes were reddened having dealt with her stepmother in conversation the night prior. There was still her work to finish before she got to work on her cloths. “I was just finishing some work.”

“Of course I’m here to see you!” Eila exclaimed, eyes sparkling. “The pond’s frozen over, and we are going to look for evidence of water sprites. Is there anything I can do to help you finish up?”
