Hear me out: Omega!Vox trying to find a way to turn Beta!Alastor into an alpha after being rejected. He's applying outdated gender norms as a reason for it. "Oh, he DEFINITELY wouldn't have turned me down if he were MY ALPHA"

In your omegaverse insecure beta Vox AU, would Vox have pretended to be an omega if Alastor was an alpha? Or would his internalized whatever not allow him to do that?

He would probably have pretended even harder to be an alpha. Most of his desire to present as an alpha isn't specifically to be the societally ideal partner for Alastor - it's to present himself as a societally ideal powerful man.

Alastor being an omega who is so effortlessly powerful grates but is something Vox is able to dismiss to a certain extent because as an omega Alastor isn't even really in the game of trying to attain acceptable alpha-hood (which has significant overlap with toxic masculinity and the persistent pressure for people to prove themselves as worthy of their own gender), but Alastor being an alpha who is still effortlessly powerful despite clearly putting little to no effort into the particular kind of showboating that Vox has to engage in to feel like he's even starting to "do it right" would just make Vox feel even more insecure standing next to him.

It would probably just shift his psychosexual obsession with Alastor from "I am going to dominate you beause that's what a real alpha does to omegas" to "I am going to dominate you to prove that I'm better at being an alpha." Cue wildly oscillating between trying to emasculate Alastor for not trying very hard to align with what Vox thinks makes a real alpha, and being frustrated that Alastor is so secure in himself despite not even trying.

And when it comes to Hazbin, Alastor has a special place in my heart.

So naturally I thought about the best way to torture him.

And the best way to torture him is to make him an omega.

Seriously, it'd be a worse punishment than Hell.

Vox's internalised homophobia is now to do with him liking male alphas and other omegas

He overcompensates his submissive nature during his sexual heats with acting super aggressive outside of heats, he rather enjoys that he's naturally aggressive and protective during non-sexual heats

His inner omega views Alastor as a packmember and he gets really upset during heat that Alastor isn't in his nest

When he has Alastor as a prisoner in season 2 he forced Alastor to sleep in his nest. Vox wasn't fully aware he was nesting

I headcannon Charlie as an alpha, I think she's submissive during her ruts and she is very careful about not using her secondary gender against anyone. She's very out of the loop when it comes to things like instincts

After Alastor rejected Vox's business proposal Vox got rejection sick, because even though he didn't say it he really wanted Alastor to be his alpha

How I'm thinking about rejection sickness is basically makes heats way more painful without an alpha and makes the omega go into a prolonged preheat. It usually only happens to omegas who were already in a relationship with the alpha that rejected them, Vox was just THAT in love with Al

Alastor mocked Vox for needing an alpha to help him

While Vox is sick he meets Valentino and as Vox develops feelings for Val the symptoms from the rejection sickness go away (mostly, Vox is no longer suffering a prolonged preheat but he still gets really painful heats)

Vox really wants to hide that he's an omega, but things like scent blockers and heat suppressants were hard to come by as a human in the 50s so he only got access to them in Hell around the 80s. So anyone who knew him before then knows he's an omega. People know better than to mention it in present day though (he will kill you for mentioning it)

When Baxter started working for him, Vox had him make him heat suppressants

Vox is awful at paying attention to when his heat is about to start and for heat suppressants to work you have to take them within a few days of your heat starting, so he often has heats anyway

Vox always tries to work through his heats, he thinks if he takes a break because of it he'll be considered weak

Shok.wav has been trained to alert Valentino and/or Velvette that Vox is going into heat (Velvette's idea not Vox's)

Vox's heats are actually mostly non-sexual, it's like a 60/40 ratio of non-sexual to sexual heats

He's very protective and aggressive in heat. If it's non-sexual he needs Valentino, Velvette, and Shok.wav in his nest and he needs them to STAY THERE. Shok.wav is a good boy who will stay, but Val and Vel have tried to leave before. Vox will lay on top of them

The vees are a pack, Vox is the pack leader. He'll never admit this, but he has a permanent nest in his bed that both Val and Vel will sleep in with him

Cakeverse Radiosilence

For those who don't know, the cakeverse is the omegaverse's gorey coursin. There are Cakes and Forks and normal people. Forks can't taste ANYTHING except the fluids and flesh of Cakes (the people of this universe, not the food). Cakes taste and smell DELICIOUS to Forks and don't know they're a Cake until they get attacked/found out by a Fork who smelled them, at which point it becomes hard for the Fork to hold back

Alastor is a Fork, Vox is a Cake

Alastor who goes throughout life surrounded by food that's connected with culture and history and comfort. And he can't taste any of it. All the while he has to keep smiling as if he did, so nobody would think he's a Fork. Because most people assume Forks will become murderers and cannibals

Alastor when he smells a Cake for the first time. Lurring them out. And finally getting to taste. It's so delicious. It finally makes the way other peopl talk about food make sense. It fills him with energy and exciting. How every Cake tastes different. How he aquires a preference for smell/taste

Vox, who grew up in the WASP suburbs of America. Forks and Cakes are not subjects of his world. That happens elsewhere, not here

But he finds out that he likes being bitten. Having his blood drawn. See it smeared across his body like a painting.

And when Alastor and Vox meet for the first time, it's the closest thing to love Alastor will ever feel to another person.

He takes his time. He doesn't just devour Vox like his other victims. He let's him live. So he'll enjoy that taste for a very, very long time. He makes Vox bleed. Makes him cry. Licks him clean like a cat, tastes the salt of his tears.

And Vox couldn't be happier

1) Heat would make his hypnotizing super effective.

2) Don't give attention whore the attention pheromones
