Buckle up and head down that highway of life

With life being like a highway, this is where I unbridle my spirit and use some creativity to let it roam free.

I'm so thankful for the opportunity and ability to hike locally a few days a week. I usually hike with my younger daughter, especially on the longer trails, but today I went alone. With my hiking pole, water bottle and cellphone in tow I hiked 5 and a half miles today. A few photos from my hike are below.

Though I have walked with God for several years, I must confess I still find much about Him incomprehensible and mysterious. But this much I know: He delights in surprising us. God says in Isaiah 43:19, See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Your situation may be as barren as a desert or as meaningless as a wasteland. You may be tempted to think, “There’s no way!” All I ask is that you read that verse one more time and be on the lookout. God is making a way in the wilderness. He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 God wants to strengthen His children so that they can accomplish His will and purpose here on earth. God wants to renew your strength. When God strengthens you, you can accomplish the impossible. This new strength comes as we make time for God in our lives. And, when God, the Creator of the universe, strengthens us, we can soar like an eagle above the storm and become an over-comer. Heavenly Father, I come to you for strength. Without You I cannot take a single step. I lean on You. Please renew my strength this day as I face the challenges that confront me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
