Scott McCall is the hero of Teen Wolf. Without him the show ceases to be as it is left without its center, its hero. Seeing a young Latino man step up and be the hero — not the villain, not the gangster, or the drug dealer, or the exotic plaything of the white heroine — but instead the hero is inspiring. Teen Wolf is a silly show, with as many plot holes as Glee but there’s a lot to be said about the importance of Scott McCall in terms of representation. He’s the Captain America of the show: all uncompromising goodness, self-sacrifice, and everyone’s moral center. He’s not there to be a stereotype or a token, Scott exists to be a hero.

“Well, when I was nine years old, Star Trek came on, I looked at it and I went screaming through the house, ‘Come here, mum, everybody, come quick, come quick, there’s a black lady on television and she ain’t no maid!’ I knew right then and there I could be anything I wanted to be.” — Whoopi Goldberg
Kai Parker + according to everyone else (mostly Damon);
well, i don’t know where they see that Kai resembles Ryan Reynolds (and when has ryan reynolds ever been grungy)???
if anything it should be, sociopathic Paul Rudd.
i mean …
it’s kinda hard to unsee
Yassss someone else who sees it!
I don’t know what the writers are talking about he literally looks nothing like Ryan Reynolds. XD
I don’t think writers realize that “strong female character” means “well written female character” and not just “female character who punches stuff and shoots stuff”
#I don’t think half the people on tumblr know the difference either
Kat said she felt like she hadn’t had a real romantic interest for one or two seasons. Kat said she wished the finale went differently. Kat said it was “dangerous” to talk about Kai/Bonkai. Kat explicitly said she shipped Bonkai. The makings were all there for this ship to take off, but then the trajectory of the plot was changed, Kai made “irredeemable”, before being killed off for a “supernova” finale. I used quotations marks for a reason.
I don’t really see why it’s so hard to understand why any of us ship Bonkai. It was there, the writing was there to support it, and the actors were behind it 100%. Need I repeat myself and say Kat Graham HERSELF rooted for it?
I’ve entered the final stage of the grieving process: acceptance. I sincerely doubt Kai will ever be brought back, but up until the ending of 6x17 Bonkai were going strong and somewhere meaningful and filled with endless promise. Even post 6x17 I still ship it and can make it work, and NOBODY can take that away from me. A lot of the time fanon > canon anyway. Plus, if allowed to live sometimes I wonder, how long would have Kai remained Bonnie oriented? Considering Julie said way back when Kai only considered Bonnie “kind of/a little” pretty LIES as well as revealed she doesn’t place any real value on her character outside of her relationship with Damon, perhaps not long…if at all.

Plec totally revealed herself and her agenda when she said that Bonnie was “kinda pretty”, that was right after Chris said that Kai has this beautiful girl(Bonnie) there with him. Plec must have HATED that he said that. Again, the main reason why bonkai was so great was because Plec had NOTHING to do with it. She stayed in her lane, for awhile. Until the thought of it became too much for her little disturbed brain to handle and therefore she wanted to intervene and ruin a good thing.
bonkai-diaries
I had no idea! So Julie herself was the one to say Bonnie was only “kinda pretty” and it came after Chris said Kai essentially found Bonnie to be beautiful? What the hell is wrong with her? Does she not realize how demeaning that sounds to Kat? She has praised Candice Accola for having chemistry with everyone too right? Yeah she doesn’t hide the fact that she plays favorites at all. That’s so insulting and disgusting. She needs to back all of her actors up instead of being so transparent. I cannot imagine the kind of work environment Kat has had to put up with over the years.

Sorry Matt....
So recently I’ve been thinking that they really intend on going down the Matt route with a relationship with Bonnie. Perhaps in a romantic way. This is not really an anti Matt post cause he’s a pretty sweet and awesome guy. Although I tagged it that way because if someone loves him they may be offended.
But i’m not feeling the whole Matt thing.
I’m not feeling it because when I think about what bonkai could have been I can’t even fathom being excited about Matt.
I wanted someone new for Bonnie
I wanted someone on Bonnie’s level that could teach her new things. Things about herself and things about her magic.
I wanted someone that Bonnie didn’t need to save.
I wanted someone who could if needed save Bonnie.
I wanted a guy that was new feeling wise and by that I mean no leftovers. I don’t want Matt after he’s been through Elena, Caroline, Rebecca, Elena’s daughter and a bit of Sarah Salvatore. *Turns around* oh hey look it’s Bonnie.
I feel like a relationship with Matt would be like a relationship with Jeremy part 2.
The guy that no one is interested in who poses no real threat just like Jeremy.
They are setting up for a time jump I hear so once again Bonnie gets to have love flourish and happen off screen. Cause I mean who wants to see that *sarcasm*
The ultimate kick will be if she is actually married to Matt and fans never get to see her wedding. She never gets her moment in the spotlight, even her big day happens off screen.
I ship them as friends…but I just can’t seem to ship the relationship at this point.
Glad I’m not watching, cause that will be painful to watch.
wasabicakes Thanks for reading my mind and putting all my thoughts about this into your post. ha.
Seriously though, I only see them as really good friends. That’s it. He doesn’t really do anything for Bonnie’s storyline, as we’ve said, which was the great appeal to Bonnie and Kai. And unlike Bonnie and Kai, Matt and Bonnie they don’t have much chemistry. I mean Bonnie has chemistry with a lot of guys but they happen to pair her with the two guys she doesn’t have romantic chemistry with. lol Of course.
I don’t dislike Matt, I like that he’s annoyed by the vampire stuff but his character is boring and powerless for the most part. Sound familiar?
That said, they can go down this road, I don’t care because I’m not watching. Not unless Kai comes back and kills Matt in a jealous rage.
Kidding. I don’t want Kai to kill Matt. I like Matt. I want him to kill Damon though.
I am Bonkai trash af.
I am so sorry.
I cried all my tears at this scene.
