Calliope rolled her eyes exaggeratedly as she watched Evan attempt to act all innocent. “I’m pretty sure they taste the exact same. Which you would know if you didn’t think it’s perfectly alright to just go and steal off of someone’s plate.” The booing mixed with cheering echoed throughout the great hall and a smirk took place on her lips. She let a small, fake laugh escape her lips before replying. “You’re hilarious, you know that? No - seriously, that was a really great joke.” She leaned over and high fived a fellow Gryffindor sitting across from her before turning back to Evan.
Calliope was well aware of the fact that the little house rivalry was more of a fun thing rather than a serious one. The houses liked to joke and tease each other, but for the most part it was all quite innocent and quite honestly pretty entertaining. “Oh, get over yourself.” She groaned, although a smile was still evident on her lips. “But yes, make sure you watch Evan’s new video tomorrow! I’m sure you’re going to love how mad he is when Gryffindor beats them at the quidditch match today!”
Evan grinned. “Nope, Gryffindors just get all the best stuff, it’s proven. You’re Hogwart’s darling house -- which means you get spoiled.” He directed this right into the camera with a long-suffering grin. “And as for Slytherin ... We’re lucky they don’t make us drink the lake water. They already make us live under it.” He stole another piece of bacon off of Calliope’s plate, making a mental note to replace it once the video was over -- once the cameras stopped rolling, there was no need to be rude. “I think I deserve the bacon, don’t you?” He watched as the houses went off on each other.
Of course, no one was really serious about the house rivalry, anymore. And while there was some prejudice against Slytherin after the war, enough of them had spoken out and shown their true colors so that by now, it didn’t really exist, at least within Hogwarts. There was still a bit of tension outside of school, however -- something he hoped to fix with his vlog. He was constantly showing off the talents of his house mates, showing that they really were just people, most of them good. And if he played off of the Gryffindor rivalry a bit ... It was all in good fun. He turned towards Calliope’s camera and smiled, but decided to stay quiet until she either engaged him or finished the video.
