i believe in autistic cloud but have not played the remake and other games and hardly remember the original. can you give some examples for my reading pleasure?

ohhh man if you've never played remake etc you are missing out on a whole wide world of cloud autism moments. just to give you an idea, less than 10 minutes into remake they hit us with this doozy of an interaction

and this is just the first of many. cloud is wholly incapable of sustaining a normal conversation with people in this game. shout out the scene where he tells a dying woman that she owes him a pizza. also much MUCH love to his voice actor who perfectly nails his emotionally constipated tone of voice.

anyway here he is fucking up not one but TWO high fives back to back

not even the first time in the game he misses this exact social cue. and he will continue to do so multiple times down the line. don't worry he eventually starts to sort of understand the esoteric concept of the High Five but not until well into part 2

he is regularly completely stone-faced and unemotive even when he's actively trying to be outward about his feelings. his special interest is military protocol/weaponry/materia and gets REALLY really into it without realizing during the junon parade in rebirth. other characters try to flirt or joke with him constantly and it just flies straight over his head, every single time, without fail. honestly what an icon everybody give it up for cloud strife

i go to the shop and I ask if they have any raspberries. they say no, they used to sell raspberries, but they haven't had any in stock in the last 15 years. I ask if there's somewhere else I can go to buy raspberries. They say no, with confidence and pride, they're the only shop around who has ever sold or will ever sell raspberries. Other shops might sell other fruit, sure, but they have a monopoly on all raspberries forever. I ask if they're possibly planning on them selling them again in future? they say they can't tell me that.

on the way home, I encounter someone eating raspberries. I ask and they tell me that they grow their own, they got some seeds from the shop back in The Raspberry Days and kept them. They take me to a field of many beautiful raspberry plants and invite me to pick my own, they're free for all the town to pick whenever they'd like.

someone comes up behind us. It's the shop manager, President of Nintendo Shuntaro Furukawa. he hatefully throws a bob-omb that blows up and kills both of us instantly for stealing 200 trillion dollars worth of potential Raspberry Shop That Doesn't Do Raspberries Anymore profits that they weren't making and then he turns around to the camera with a big thumbs up and says don't do piracy or something ok please

rewatching Avatar is so weird because Sokka is literally the only thing keeping them alive and fed. He constantly is like,

'guys we're out of supplies/ we need to stop/ we're attracting too much attention with the flying bison we should walk' etc.

Like in the ´The Storm' when they're completely out of money and supplies the one to get a job in hopes of making money (he never actually gets paid, the world hates him) is Sokka.

In 'The Waterbending Scroll,' it's Sokka who's concerned about their lack of supplies when Aang sends them in a wave down the river, and is making sure they're careful with their spendibg when in town shopping.

He's also seen to catch fish and gather nuts (I know more often than not he fails to catch things on screen but it's implied he's the one that does most of the hunting and gathering)

It's like- Aang totally would have starved to death or gotten completely off track with often they're completely out of food and money
