HAHAHA IT IS HERE IT IS DONE! Hello everyone, 19 very silly artists came together to give you this beautiful Perry animatic <3 We really hope you enjoy <3
HUGEST THANK YOU TO @msmimundo FOR BEING MY LOVELY CO-HOST!! AND @ryleejam FOR BEING THE IDEA-GIVER!
I may be graduating in a couple days so… grad cap design! :)
Process stuff under the cut (of course)
I’ve had a crazy final semester so I didn’t actually start thinking about making a grad cap until this last Tuesday (since my final thing was due on Monday haha)
I knew I had to do something Phineas and Ferb themed, so I started with writing down quotes that I liked!
I was planning to do a couple designs with some of the different quotes but I immediately fell in love with this Curtain Call / Time Spent Together concept (which felt fitting) so I actually just ran with this design!
So I booted up photoshop and made a mock-up using:
A picture of ribbon I was planning to use
Flowers I had and was planning on using (that I had laid on my cap to see how I wanted to maybe arrange them)
And of course these last day of summer screenshot that I love dearly (I spliced the two together so I could have Isabella smiling)
The purpose of the photoshop was largely to get the sizing of the characters and text for me to print out!
I actually did this whole design on some cardboard I cut out and velcroed to my hat (caught up on some drawfee/spilled ink while I hand sewed velcro this morning haha)
The plan being I could glue watercolor paper to the cardboard and paint the background there (for texture reasons, then glue ribbon around the edge to made it look nice! And that’s exactly what I did! :)
Then I hot glued flowers and used foam tape to elevate everyone and the lettering!
I’m really really happy with how it turned out, especially since I designed and executed this in 2 days. Had to get the crafting zoomies out it’s been too long! Sksjjvnk

Perryshmirtz is peak Tumblr shipping. It's been popular since the mid 2010s. It's childhood nostalgia now. It's a meme to a certain degree. It's half furry half Tumblr sexy man. It's mlm. It's rivals to lovers. Enemies in love. Good vs Evil. It's been teased at in canon. It was never meant to be shipped and no one was supposed to thirst after Doofenshmirtz and YET
Apparently, my decision to be silly and make fanart of someone's writing (because I genuinely enjoy the story the person is writing and I was struck with inspiration upon reading a particular scene) has benevolent and wildly unforeseen consequences.
I apparently gained a bit of control of the canon because said writer really loved the art and decided what I drew/draw is canon.
2. Writer put said artwork into the document of his story right below the scene, so now it's IN the story where people who read the story will see it (with a link to me)
3. He sent the artwork to all his friends and people he knows because he was so excited
Wholesome interaction and I watched him do all that in real time, good stuff. However...there are two more consequences I was notified of today...nearly a full week after I gave the artwork.
Seeing the artwork caused his friends to become interested in reading and hearing about his story, which means more people are reading what he's writing and giving him critique on the story (which he actively asks for).
Apparently, upon seeing the art, his writer friends got a sudden second wind to pick back up writing they'd abandoned for a few months. Because, I quote, "seeing that someone enjoyed {his} writing enough to take the time to make art of it gave them the motivation that maybe THEY can write something that will inspire someone to also create something." I have accidentally caused a writing frenzy among his writer friends and my silly idea to make art for someone has had a butterfly effect for people who I don't even know.
Uhh...I'm pretty sure there's a moral here but I am tired and have a great deal of emotions about this.
